Here’s what’s happening in Boston.
It’s going to take a second to wrap your head around just how much is going on this week in Boston. Look out for taco parties, alcoholic cold brew, and some serious carbo-loading. Doesn’t sound healthy? See for yourself.

💪 The Class Is In Session!
If it's good enough for Jennifer Aniston and Christy Turlington, you'd better believe it's good enough for us. The Class, an infamous yoga-cardio-strength workout created by Taryn Toomey, is coming to Boston for one day only. Two sessions of The Class will be hosted at the City Winery near North Station on October 18, and ticket-holders will not only get a killer workout but also a healthy breakfast and a chance to shop exclusive The Class merch.

🌱 Real [Plant-based] Food
Tender Greens is throwing a curveball here: they’re crafting “Real Food. Made Real”... with faux meat. As of October 1, you’ll be able to order vegan chicken from their locations in Chestnut Hill and Copley Place thanks to a partnership with LA’s The Abbot’s Butcher. But because Tender Greens is dedicated to only the most seasonal of dishes, you’ll have to act fast if you want the incredible vegan Mezze Plate — it will only be available through October.

🐝 More Than A Caffeine Buzz
What is possibly the greatest coffee/alcohol innovation since Irish coffee, La Colombe has partnered with MillerCoors (yes, you read that correctly) to unveil Hard Cold Brew Coffee in a can — and Boston is one of the very first cities to get it! One hundred calories, 50mg of caffeine, 4.2% ABV, and that ultra-smooth, full-bodied taste of La Colombe’s roasts make this the ultimate tailgate beverage (or after that Sunday cycling session). It’s available in black and vanilla flavors, and you can grab a can at Blanchards in Allston, Star Market in Cambridge, Marina Bay Market in Quincy, and a few other spots around the area.

🍝 Oh, The Pastabilities
Whoever thought to pair pasta and pedaling together is a genius. We’re talking about The Handle Bar, of course. In honor of three of their instructors running the Chicago Marathon next weekend, the Harvard Square studio is hosting PASTATHON tomorrow night at 5:45pm. Elise, Matt, and Melissa, the runners/star instructors, will lead a 75-minute endurance ride followed immediately after by a pasta party! Sign up to get in on the carbs!

🌮 Taco Time
It’s astonishing that this didn’t fall on a Tuesday, but tomorrow, October 4, is National Taco Day — and we must celebrate. We recommend passing on Taco Bell for something a little more wholesome, like Somerville’s Taco Party or Downtown’s Papagãyo. Plus, even more organic, plant-based, gluten-free, and delicious options abound on our list of healthy(ish) tacos joints in Boston.

TRILLFIT's dance-meets-HIIT workouts are legendary, and these music-driven classes at the Huntington Avenue YMCA will give you life (and a new playlist to follow). Smuttynose Rockfest Half Marathon & 5K
Just north of Boston, you’ll find New England’s fastest, flattest, most scenic road race. Whether you’re taking on the 13.1, racing through a 5k, or just there for the Smuttynose craft beer, you’ll love this day of racing, refreshing brews, lobster rolls, and local ice cream!

Beat the Ferry - Fall Edition
It’s much easier to pedal 170km (105 miles) when you have a beer and a boat ride waiting for you at the end. Participants will take the train out from Boston to Middleborough, then hop on their bikes for the long ride through the Cape, all the way to where the land meets the sea in Provincetown just in time to catch a beer, a bite, and the ferry back to Boston.

🍩 In Other News
The forthcoming redevelopment of the Arsenal Mall in Watertown is really taking shape, and you’ll be able to count on doughnuts and poutine when Arsenal Yards cuts the ribbon at the end of this year. The Gallows, a South End New American eatery known for its poutine and comfort foods, is opening a mash-up space with Blackbird Doughnuts (which is also a concept in The Gallows Group). So… cheat day?
