Here’s what’s happening in DC.
Did anyone else see the list of the latest Michelin-starred restaurants in DC? We’re drooling. But we’re also making resos as fast as we can at the Bib Gourmand winners, where we can dig into amazing plates at more affordable prices. Michelin obviously took our opinions into consideration, adding Taqueria Habanero to the list. While you’re waiting for your tables, check what else we’re digging in DC’s health and fitness scene this week.

😋 Butter Coffee, But Better
We love a good cup of joe as much as the next person, but fill our espresso martinis with ghee, and it’s a match made in heaven. You’ll find this, plus a ton of other creative food and drink concoctions at the new Residents Café & Bar in Dupont. We’re talking a vegan chia parfait with manila mango, smashed avocado on grilled sourdough with pickled corn, and chickpea fritters with carrot-turmeric hummus. This day-to-night snack bar is run in part by the founder of our go-to for Lebanese eats, Muncheez (it’s right next door), so you can expect nothing short of delicious!

🐔 Winner, Winner
Not only is LEON the place where you can snag a gluten-free chicken nugget dinner, but it’s also one of the fastest-growing chains we’ve seen hit the DMV. Known for its ‘naturally fast food’, this healthy hot spot is now bringing vegan, vegetarian, and GF eats to Virginia’s Mosaic District this winter. With a seasonal menu and three current locations in the area, we’re lining up to get a taste test before it opens!

🌮 Healthy Handhelds
ICYMI: tomorrow is National Taco Day, and you’re not going to have to twist our arm to celebrate. But if a healthier version of your favorite Mexican-inspired meal is what you’re after, we’re one step ahead with a list of all the best places to score better-for-you tacos in DC. From blackened mahi mahi tacos to tortillas stuffed with grilled veggies and avocado, there’s no shortage of flavor-packed options to choose from. Now for the hard part — deciding which spot to hit up first.

☕️ A Latte To Love
If you ask us, Compass Coffee is really going in the right direction when it comes to their fall menu. Just released: a lineup of cozy, warm drinks you won’t be able to stop sipping on. Try the Almond Butter Latte (yes, we said almond butter), or the Nutella Mocha. Not a fan of coffee? There’s a Matcha Latte and Apple Cider with your name on it!

👋 Scaling Back Savasana
It’s not all burgers, tacos, and beverages, we have some fitness news, too. Sadly, it’s that the YogaWorks on 14th Street is closed. If this was your go-to for a restorative yoga class, don’t worry — the studio is relocating all of its instructors and classes to its other DMV locations. Plus, all 14th Street members are only a short walk to the still-open Dupont Studio.

💦 Sweat Sanctuary
We’ve been teasing new instructors from this luxury fitness club for a couple of weeks, but we can officially say that Equinox in Anthem Row is open! Now, the Mount Vernon Triangle area can finally get in on the upscale fitness club’s signature group Pilates, cycling, barre, and boxing classes, as well as all the amenities we know and love from the brand (hello, spa!). Oh, and we can’t forget to mention a new Equinox means a new Juice Press is here!

Market Mecca
Now there’s one more reason to head over to Union Market — La Cosecha. The new Latin lifestyle hall is having its soft opening this weekend. Stop by for furniture, fashion, and, of course, food. Right now, the hall has a limited number of stalls and shops open, but expect over 10 additional places to pop up as the weeks go on. We suggest a walk through for happy hour cocktails before heading to Union Market for a few bites.
So Many Rooms
Only the most talked about art installation is coming to DC! Refinery29’s 29Rooms opens for its 10-day run at the end of the month, but you’ve got to buy your tickets now if you want to get in. For those unfamiliar, this immersive experience brings art, style, and activism together for rooms on rooms worth of exhibits, performances, and workshops that will connect you with your creativity.
