Fall Happenings:
Victories and New Friends!
The human family that got Zachary to safety at Loving Farm. Moorea, Colton, Concetta, and Glen Davison.
Hello Friends,

Meet the newest member of our family, Zachary!

Zachary wandered onto a horse farm in Arroyo Grande. He was friendly and looked healthy.
No one was looking for him, so the “horse people” who found him put him in a pen and started contacting farmed animal sanctuaries. They could not find a sanctuary that wasn’t full…including ours!
We were saddened to tell them we were full. We had just adopted Luna and it takes time and money to integrate a new pig into the family. It was not a good time for us to bring in any new animals.
But then…the “horse people” made a “joke” to a true animal lover (and vegan) they were either going to slaughter and eat this boy or they were going to dump him and “make him someone else’s problem.”
That’s not a joking matter. Ever. It’s never funny to joke about killing or abandoning someone.
So we got another call. This time from the kind, compassionate vegan who just wanted this boy to be safe for life. She was really upset and for all the right reasons.
We were appalled that anyone would want to kill this innocent boy. So we hitched up our horse trailer and went to pick up our new family member. We couldn’t stand the idea of him being killed or dumped in our own community.

We hope you'll come meet him and the rest of the family soon!

We will send another email when tickets become available!
Tracey Attends the Farm Sanctuary Animal Care Conference!
In September, Loving Farm's Co-Founder Tracey, attended the Animal Care Conference at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY. Farm Sanctuary is the most established and respected farmed animal sanctuary in the country. At this conference they brought together newer, smaller sanctuaries to discuss best practices and growth.
Tracey learned so much that will help carry Loving Farm Animal Sanctuary into the future. It was an inspiring, uplifting and demanding conference but an unforgettable experience!

Note: Bill and Tracey paid for this trip with personal funds, not donations. Tracey had wanted to attend this conference for many years and she is very grateful she got to attend!
Time for a Fall Getaway!
