The Ad Hoc Group Against Crime is providing a FREE training for Marlborough residents. Each year, 10 million serious crimes – more than half of the nation’s total – go unreported. The Neighborhood Watch program is simply neighbors working together with local police to reduce criminal opportunity. AdHoc’s Neighborhood Watch and Block Captain Trainings aim to educate participants in the principles of deterrence, delay, and detection. The training depends on a communication network organized with four levels of participants; the residents, block captains, and connecting for good coordinator, and a local law enforcement representative.
Additionally, AdHoc’s Neighborhood Watch program is designed to introduce the underlying theory of community capacity building, provide key principles of engagement and expose participants to an array of strategies and tools to strengthen outreach and cooperation among neighborhood residents and stakeholders.
