This Sunday starts our Fall Sunday hours (9a-1p)! Enjoy that sweet extra 60 minutes of shopping, meeting our community partners, and all-around fun & good vibes. Every Sunday, you can also enjoy live music, free coffee from Galveston Coffee Roasters, and a chill community area for mixin' and minglin'.
In case you missed them, our friends at Texas ACE are hosting their 1st Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival next Saturday, October 12th. From 10am to 1pm at the Scott Building Gym and Cafeteria, celebrate and appreciate the beautiful Hispanic culture on the island!

On October 27, bring the kids (or the kid in you) to be a part of our spooktacular costume parade through market, get your face painted by the fabulous Mel Black, pet Princess Tulip the Market Bunny, and vote for the best dressed vendor!
On October 31, stop by dressed in a gourd-geous costume and receive a free GOFM sticker at the GOFM Info Booth! Plus, enjoy The Bryan Museum’s Trunk or Treat in the parking lot, and make candy neurons and brain hats with the Society of Neuroscience Galveston.

GOFM Recipe of the Week
Butternut Squash & Beef Soup
Did you know that we host a variety of cooking classes throughout the year? See our newest class offerings like Indian Cuisine 102, Heart Healthy Cuisine, Holiday Cooking Made Easy, and now everyone can enjoy our free Learn to Cook classes at area WIC Clinics!
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 sweet potato, diced
- 1 idaho potato, diced
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 3 ribs celery, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 cups beef stock
- 1 cup kale, chopped
- 1 cup shishito peppers, chopped
- 2 tablespoons mixed fresh herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add potatoes, onion, celery, carrots and garlic. Saute 5 minutes.
- Add beef, stirring while cooking, about 4 minutes.
- Add kale, shishito peppers, beef stock, herbs, salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are cooked through.
