Worship this Sunday - Oct. 6, 10 a.m.

This week we celebrate World Communion Sunday and
the 2nd in our October series:
Seasons of Creation.
The choir sings "For the Beauty of the Earth," reminding us of the majesty and faithfulness of all Creation, and Pastor Chris delivers the reflection: Homesick in Babylon.
We share Communion, singing and praying together.

Adult Education begins at 11:30 with a reading of "The Laramie Project."

Mark Your Calendars: 2019 PPUMC Bazaar & Art Fair – Saturday, Nov. 2!

Get ready for another fabulous PPUMC Art Fair as we celebrate the gift of creativity, enjoy fabulous food, and raise money in support of the many ministries at Prospect Park UMC. There’ll be much more information to follow in the weeks ahead, including a Facebook event and printed materials for you to share with friends. Also, if you know of an artist who would be interested in participating, have them check out the Bazaar and Art Fair sign-up portal on the PPUMC website at www.prospectparkchurch.org

Stewardship Meals

Friends, there are still available spaces for the stewardship meals!
There are cooks conferring over recipes and plans.
Now what is needed is YOU!!
It is very simple to tap the button below and be led through a sign up process.
(We know it has been tricky, but we have fixed the glitch!)
This is a delicious stewardship campaign that is planned to bring us together so that we ENJOY getting to know each other better,
even as we gear up for the year ahead.

First Saturday Folk in Concert – Sat., Oct. 12, 7 p.m.

PPUMC favorites First Saturday Folk are gearing up for another fun-filled evening of folk favorites as part of the 10th Annual PPUMC Community Concert Series. Celebrate a decade of concerts, enjoying the music of John Denver, Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon & Garfunkel and many more, with plenty of sing-a-long opportunities – it’s sure to be an evening of down-home family fun! A freewill offering will be taken to support Southeast Seniors, helping senior citizens live full, enriched lives in the comfort of their own homes. Of course, we’ll have the yummiest post-show reception in town immediately following the concert.
We hope to see you next Saturday!

Items of Note

The PPUMC Leadership Council meets next Tuesday evening, October 8, at 7 o'clock in Community Hall. All are welcome to attend.

The annual Twin Cities Marathon takes place this Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m. If your normal route to church takes you along or near the Franklin Avenue – Mississippi River bridge in particular, be on the lookout for traffic delays or detours.  Click here for a map of this year's marathon route. Best wishes to all participants!

The people of PPUMC stand with the Minnesota Conference in rejecting the

Traditional Plan approved at General Conference 2019 as inconsistent

with the gospel message and will resist its implementation.

We remain committed to full inclusion.

LOVE GROWS HERE.
