CIKA COMMITS TO FURTHER FUNDING OF THE TISSUE BANK
At our August committee meeting, CIKA committed to continue funding the tissue bank at the Children’s Cancer Center at the RCH. This will see CIKA providing $100,000 per year for a further three years.

establishment of the tissue bank by clicking here.

SUPPORTING SUPPORTERS
Fred and Leah Bergman can always be relied upon especially when it comes to helping others support CIKA and last weekend was no exception.
We know that it can be difficult to manage the logistics of making donations of goods that can be sold to raise funds for CIKA but we can always find a way to get those items to where they are needed. Email our president, Sandra Lehrer, if you wish to donate goods or money to CIKA.
SPRING SPECTACULAR
Step into Spring was an amazing success for Ruth Edelsten and her team. Great market stalls and a sumptuous high tea. What a fabulous way to raise funds for childhood cancer research. To see more photos of the event click here or visit the CIKA Facebook page for more reports.
ANOTHER BUSY DAY IN MAIN STREET
The CIKA stalls are always a highly anticipated event and are known for both great bargains and high quality merchandise. Our last stall was no exception. A fabulous array of goods all sold with a smile. We are greatly indebted to the members of the stalls' team. The funds they raise are the backbone of what we do.
We congratulate the those in the CIKA team who were recently awarded the title of Living Treasure by the RCH. As well a formal presentation there was a morning tea to honour their contribution. Shown below are some of our CIKA treasures with Lucia Di Maio, Auxiliaries Administration Officer. And yes, that's a cheque that Lucia has just accepted. Just some of the funds raised by the fabulous CIKA team!
VALUED SUPPORTERS
A special thank you in this edition of CIKA eNews to Biemond Nurseries who have generously donated goods for both the Andy's Market Stall at the RCH and The Pines Christmas Stall in Doncaster. You can read more about their donation here
We never forget that without support such as this vital research would not be funded.
We also thank Daniel Burke for his amazing support of CIKA through the Wood Days Calendar. For 12 Years Daniel has produced this calendar raising many thousands of dollars for research. We are sad to announce that the 2019 calendar was the last to be produced and acknowledge the enormous contribution that Daniel has made over many years.

CONTRIBUTIONS ARE OFTEN SMALL
No matter the size of the donation it will always be put to work in solving the cancer puzzle. Recently, CIKA committee member, Wendy Halligan brought along bunches of daffodils to a meeting. People took away a bunch and left a donation. A fantastic result for everyone.
