Marco Lambertini, Director General of WWF met with the DRC President, HE Felix Antoine Tshisekedi in New York

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, HE Felix Antoine Tshisekedi met with the Director General of WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), Dr Marco Lambertini and his delegation. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2019 Climate Action Summit and the 74th UN General Assembly.

New Country Director appointed to WWF-DRC

Mr. Martin Kabaluapa, the new County Director of WWF-DRC took office on 2 September 2019.
 
Martin joins WWF-DRC from World Food Programme (WFP) Burundi where he was the Deputy Country Director. His role included implementation of humanitarian programmes across vast areas in Burundi and also contributing to significant fundraising efforts in the country

Leaders for Nature and People: World leaders rally behind need for UN Emergency Declaration for Nature and People

WWF’s event ‘Leaders for Nature and People’, held on Monday, 23 September, in New York on the eve of the UN General Debate, exceeded our expectations! Bringing together world leaders to discuss and publicly support the need for an Emergency Declaration for Nature and People, it showcased the momentum that is now building towards a truly historic year for nature and climate in 2020.

New film of WWF-DRC Forest Governance Program funded by NORAD

The forest governance program, PGF in French acronym,  funded by the Norwegian Agency for Cooperation Development (NORAD) since 2009 assists local NGOs in becoming independent observers and agents of change to make the forest sector as formal and transparent as possible in DRC.
 
A new film recently produced is depicting achievements of the last ten years.
