Tamecia Wright

Staff Profile: Tamecia Wright

This month, we interviewed Tamecia Wright. She participated in the Professional Development Circles and is beginning the ASPIRE program offered by Workplace Learning & Professional Development.

How did you come to Georgia Tech, and what do you do in your current role? I am the Human Resources Coordinator for the School of Aerospace Engineering, and I’ve been here since May of 2016. I have been in human resources for almost 15 years. I was working at the Department of Education at the time, and so Georgia Tech was one of the places I applied. In my role, I hire staff and research faculty and I share some of that responsibility with my manager.

Update from the Dean: Faculty/Staff Expectations

The College continually strives to create and nurture the best working environment for faculty, staff, and students. One idea that emerged from the CoE Staff Culture Advisory Council (COESCAC) and College’s Diversity and Inclusion Council was to create a document on staff-faculty interactions similar to one established by the Institute on student-faculty interactions in the 2019-2020 catalog.

Well Being Corner

The Atlanta Bike Challenge — Biketober — will take place October 1-31, 2019. Biketober is a fun, free challenge to get more people on bikes, and, this year, Georgia Tech has a campus-wide team.

Everyone is welcome, and, if you haven't cycled for years, don't worry! You only have to ride for as little as 10 minutes to support our team, and you can ride anywhere, anytime during October. You can also earn points by supporting teammates, so log on and high five your co-worker for their ride.

Get involved. You can learn more and register at atlbikechallenge.com; simply click 'Register' at the top of the page and look for the Georgia Institute of Technology team.
