Weekly Updates for Oct. 6
1. THE TOP
Interested in joining Appa Volunteers? New member orientation is this Sunday, Oct. 6 from 5-6:15 p.m. in the Eagles Nest. Returning for another year? Join us at our next meeting on Oct. 20. Email Appa for more info.
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, our next two Sunday liturgies will feature prayers and hymns that highlight the richness of Hispanic diversity, heritage, and culture. Special Prayer Cards will also be distributed at all Masses. View the full schedule at bc.edu/mass and learn more about Hispanic Heritage Month activities through the BAIC.
2. WORTH SHARING
  • Pray, dialogue, and unite at the Multi-Faith Retreat Oct. 25-26. Reflect upon your own religious identity and deepen your understanding of the religious experience of others as we celebrate the many religious traditions represented at Boston College.
  • Want to get confirmed before graduation? BC offers a spring Confirmation Program consisting of six noon-time Sunday conversations about Catholicism, its traditions, and practices. Program concludes with the celebration of the sacrament on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Register online.
  • Join Taize brothers Emile and John to hear about their prayer community and the need for reconciliation in our lives and world. Lunch will be available from 12-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in St. Mary's Hall. Email Christine Cichello to register.
  • Taize prayer is next offered Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in St. Ignatius Church.
  • Yom Kippur Kol Nidre services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Multi-Faith Chapel. All are welcome!
  • There's still availability for Lunch with a Jesuit! Share a meal with one of BC's Jesuits alongside a small group of students at Saint Mary’s Hall at 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 or Wednesday, Nov. 13. Email ignatian@bc.edu to sign up.
The Examen soundtrack is on Spotify! The Examen – a foundation of Ignatian spirituality – gives us time and space to be present to ourselves. Join us at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Manresa House (58 College Rd.) for this 10-minute, peer-led prayer – and give the playlist a listen throughout the week to tune-in to God in the everyday.
3. WEEKLY COLLECTION
This week’s collection supports the Kino Border Initiative. Seeing the need for humanitarian assistance for deported migrants, the Jesuits along with the Missionary Sisters of the Eucharist founded KBI in 2008 on the border between Arizona and Sonora. Kino strives to respond to migrants’ most critical needs by fostering bi-national solidarity through humanitarian assistance, education, research and advocacy. Please be generous.
