Q1. What made you set up The Vida Consultancy?
I always knew that I wanted a career that involved helping people and so after practicing as a psychologist and working with people on a one-to-one basis, I spotted a job advert for a
matchmaker/psychologist and just knew it was the perfect job for me. I’ve now been matchmaking for thirteen years and running Vida Consultancy for eight with offices in London and NYC and plans for international expansion. It excites me how much the industry is blossoming.
Q2. How did you find dating whilst setting up a global business?
I’m very fortunate to have met my fiancé a year before embarking on my very exciting (yet terrifying!) journey of setting up The Vida Consultancy. We now have two gorgeous children together. Jamie has been my rock throughout and although there have been times when juggling everything has been a struggle, we communicate as best friends and focus on making a greater effort with each other including locking in those date nights and sticking to them.

Q3. Top tip for a first date?
The first date can be a nerve-wracking experience. You’re dressed to impress, looking great, but your head is a mess. Will they like me? Will they think I'm boring? What if I drink too much because I’m so nervous? To all these things, I say - relax. Your date will probably be just as nervous, even if they don’t show it. They have come on this date for a reason – for someone to plan an evening around getting to know you, you must have already made an impression.
Q4. What do you advise your clients to wear on a first date?
My advice would always be that staying true to yourself and being comfortable in your own skin will bring out the best version of you on a date. Confidence is incredibly sexy. When you combine it with style, you have the winning combination. When I want to look my best on a date night with Jamie, I treat myself to a blow-dry, or professionally applied make-up to give me a fabulously glowing look.
Q5. What keeps you glowing daily?
Glowing daily is a bit more of an effort these days, now that I have two young sons and a fairly lengthy commute! I keep myself glowing by attending to beauty and styling routines that I can easily maintain – things like a Shellac manicure every two weeks. When I’ve got a big work event or date night with Jamie, I also book my make-up with Glow&Dry either at my Mayfair office or at home and pick up so many fantastic tips on how to apply my own make-up!

TANIA'S EXPERT ADVICE
1. Enhance don’t mask. Whether it’s your eyes or your lips, pick your best feature and enhance it naturally.
2. Choose products that give a natural glow such as Rodial’s Soft Focus Drops which can be patted onto the cheekbones or mixed into your moisturiser.
3. In general, less is more. A subtle smoky or cat eye with good skin and a light lipgloss is so much more enticing than heavy make-up.
