Caregivers Alberta believes that caregivers need care too.

The Caregiver Support Community is a monthly drop-in program at the Jerry Forbes Centre that aims to empower caregivers well-being by providing a supportive group where you can connect with other caregivers, have open conversations about the ups and downs of caregiving, and learn about topics relevant to caregivers.

This group is lead by a trained facilitator who is there to help guide your caregiving journey by way of education and support.

October's Topic: Overcoming Guilt

Caregivers often have very high and therefore, unrealistic expectations of themselves. They want to do the right thing, and constantly place pressure on themselves to put their care receiver’s needs first. But the truth is, we’re human, and when our own needs aren’t being met, it becomes increasingly difficult to meet the needs of someone else. Join our peer support group as we discuss management strategies for overcoming patterns of “unhealthy” guilt in our caregiver role.

Let's Talk About Guilt
October 22nd, 2019 | 1:00pm - 2:00pm

But what if you could rid yourself of unnecessary guilt and set yourself free? Here’s the message: you can! Join this brief workshop as we discuss management strategies for overcoming patterns of “unhealthy” guilt in our caregiver role.

A link to the online workshop will be provided to you upon registration.

Join us on October 8th from 9:00AM - 11:00AM at the Jerry Forbes Centre for Funeral Planning 101, presented by Bonnie Hoffmann from Pine Box Funerals Inc.

Bonnie’s focus is supporting families through funeral care to meaningful farewells. Bonnie’s energy mixed with a no nonsense style and sense of humour create safe spaces for hard conversations. Bonnie’s goal is to change the current culture of funeral care, one family at a time.

This session will cover many of the most frequently asked questions regarding funeral planning and celebrations of life.

Through stories and experience, Bonnie will engage the group with ideas, suggestions and the encouragement that you can do it!
