For the month of October our North Star High School location will be closed October 7th and 8th for parent-teacher conferences and October 17th and 18th for Fall break. The Park Middle School location will also be closed on the 17th and 18th for Fall break.

Welcome To Our New Office Manager Ashlyn Miyama!

Being the Office Manager for our Park Middle Location is no easy task. In our search to fill the position with the most qualified candidate possible we landed on Ashlyn Miyama. Ashlyn is originally from Las Vegas but graduated with a major in English and a minor in Political Science from Southern Utah University. As the Park Middle School Office Manager Ashlyn will be the first contact point for parents looking to pick up their kids and for Members who need help communicating with their parents. Welcome aboard Ashlyn!

Team Member of the Month

Our team member of the month is Dawlat Rauf. Dawlat is a Youth Development Professional at the North Star Club location and has been with the Club for almost two years. Dawlat was born in Kurdistan, Iraq where her father was a translator for the U.S. military. Her family emigrated to the United States where they lived in several different states before ending up in Lincoln.
Currently Dawlat is studying Psychology at UNL while also working an internship at the Asian Cultural Center. Dawlat originally came to the Club through an SCC work study program and has stayed with us even after that program ended. Her favorite part of working at the Club is forming relationships with the Members and seeing their development through Club programming. Thank you to Dawlat for all of your hard work!

Park Middle School Community Meetings

In an effort to bridge the communications gap between parents, teachers, and the Club, the Park Middle School Advisory Committee (SNAC) will be hosting monthly meetings to discuss issues pertaining to Park Middle School. These meetings will be a great opportunity to build strong bonds between parents and school staff. If you have any questions or concerns we would encourage you to attend these monthly meetings!
