A Meal Makes a Difference | Valley Brook Care Ministry

You can help make life a little easier for individuals or families in our Valley Brook community through a meal! Our Care Ministry helps coordinate and provide meals 2-3 times a week for a couple of weeks for people that are recovering from surgery, battling an illness, or experiencing life-changing circumstances such as the birth of a baby.

We offer to deliver meals, whether purchased or home-cooked dinners, so it's one less thing they need to think about. It's a tangible way we can help support, encourage and care for one another.

Team members are notified via email when a meal need arises. Our Care Ministry leader, Linda, provides a link to a meal calendar program and the recipient name, address and delivery instructions along with any food restrictions. Team members then sign up to bring meals on specific days.

We're looking for people that would like to serve on the Care Ministry Team. If you would like to learn more or volunteer email Linda Jansen, careministry@valleybrook.cc.

Fall BBQ & Picnic | Sunday, October 6
12:15 PM, Valley Brook Campus

We're not ready to give up grilling just yet! This Sunday we'll host our last BBQ picnic of the season. We enjoy a potluck meal together on the first Sunday of the month and encourage everyone to join us.

We'll supply the hotdogs and hamburgers. We ask everyone that is able to bring a salad, side dish or dessert to share.

It's a casual, fun way to get to know others at Valley Brook.
The Habit of Prayer

On Sunday we heard from both Pastor Clark and his wife, Cynthia as we continued with our "Habits" all church study. We focused on the habit of prayer and Cynthia shared her prayer pattern and practice with us as part of the morning message.

“Prayer renews my mind, I have a mind that’s always spinning. But it’s hard to be negative when I’m talking to the Lord. It really brings me to the one who fixes the crazy, who calms all the crazy. Prayer brings peace.” - Cynthia Pfaff

Great Marriages Don't Just Happen
A Weekend to Remember | November 22-24, Windsor

The great resource is coming back to the Hartford/Windsor Marriott in November and we encourage any married or engaged couple to consider attending.

"Whether your marriage is flourishing or floundering, you'll leave Weekend to Remember with the tools to make immediate & lasting improvements to your relationship...The Weekend to Remember marriage getaway is not a large group counseling session or small group discussion. Breathe easy: You’re not asked to share intimate details of your relationship with anyone.

Instead, you’ll listen to engaging talks from marriage experts, then get alone with your spouse in guided projects to practically apply concepts you’ve heard. And you’ll bring home powerful communication tools from the Bible―and meaningful memories that will last for years to come."

When you register using the group code "valleybrook" you will save $50 per person.
