Oct 8: BEAR AWARENESS WORKSHOP
Join us on Tuesday October 8 to refresh or ramp up your bear awareness skills (including a non-live bear spray demonstration), and also learn about the Campbell River Fruit Tree Project which aims to prevent fallen fruit from attracting bears into backyards.
'Tis the season where bears in Campbell River are feasting on spawning salmon in our rivers and creeks (common recreational areas), and enjoying the seasonal delights of fall fruits (often in backyards). Unfortunately, these feasts often come with increased human-bear interactions, which can end poorly for the bears.
WHEN: Tuesday October 8, 6:30 - 8:30 PM
WHERE: Campbell River Senior's Centre: The Seniors Centre is in Campbell River Commons, North entrance of the Ironwood Mall at 1414 Ironwood Rd.
WHAT: Bear Awareness Workshop instructed by retired Conservation Officer Glenn Naylor. Light refreshments available and all participants entered for a special bear-awareness door prize :)
RSVP: Appreciated to help plan for refreshments, but registration isn't required. RSVP to Lynnette@greenwaystrust.ca, or via Facebook. Bring your friends!
Hope to see you there!
