Upshot Lane Fields – Development Site Allocations
Although it is not officially announced yet, it is anticipated that the public examination will be held over the period 2-13 December this year.  Woking Borough Council need to confirm arrangements being made but we have sketched out our strategy to ensure the Upshot Lane fields are not reintroduced into proposals.

Heritage Conservation Project
A catalogue of heritage assets across the Forum area is now well advanced and we are expecting first sight of the Landscape and Townscape Character Assessment very shortly.  Completion of these activities will see the project about 20% complete.

Footpaths
Two important developments for you this month:
Arbor Footpath – Marion Malchar has been successful in organising the evidence for Surrey County Council to recommend that the footpath from the top of Pyrford Common, opposite The Bothy,, down the back of Lovelace Drive and then to the Arbor Centre be recognised as an official footpath.  The recommendation was accepted and a consultation will be announced shortly to allow for any objections and/or appeals to be lodged.  This path was a much loved route from Pyrford Common to Pyrford Village Hall and I know many will be delighted with this news.
Footpath 81 Bridge – A group, that many of you will recognise as Forum old lags, had great fun repairing the plank bridge across the ditch that separates Pyrford Golf Club and Pyrford Place recently.  The photo above shows that the route from Pyrford Golf Club to Walsham Lock is safe and usable once more.

M25 Motorway Petition
It’s time to resurface the M25 between J10 and J11 !  It’s 30 years old and constructed of concrete, with expansion joints every few metres.  The driving experience is poor and the noise excessive and unnecessary for the 48,000 residents and 3 schools within 3 km of the motorway.  James Snelgrove has been instrumental in taking action over this issue so if you’d like to help go to  https://pyrfordforum.org/m25-petition/   for more details:

Pyrford Portraits
Ian Mills is the subject of our latest Pyrford Portrait and you can see his impression of Popeye the Sailor Man at http://www.pyrfordforum.org .

Forum AGM
The 2019 AGM has been arranged for Monday 25 November so make a note in your diary and look out for more details shortly.  This year it will be in the Village Hall and tea coffee and wine will available for refreshment.

Regards

Geoff Geaves
PNF Chairman
