Adventist Laymen’s Expo a Resounding Success

The Adventist Laymen’s Services & Industries (ASI) Business & Professional Expo held last Sunday was a resounding success with a total of 45 companies hosting booths inside the Grand Ballroom at the Jamaica Pegasus and an additional 25 small businesses displaying their products on tables in the hotel lobby for the thousands of patrons to view. Florence Hill SDA Church Rededicated after 105 years

The Florence Hill SDA Church celebrated their 105th anniversary with a rededication service under the theme ‘Building on a legacy of Faith  & Service’ which saw church members, pastors and people from the community come together to celebrate the goodness of God in the life of the church. Read More
Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department
1. The Senior Citizens Trip for Bubbling Spring scheduled for this Sunday, October 6, 2019, has been postponed until next week Sunday, October 13, 2019, due to inclement weather. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
2. Mission 2020 Evangelism Summit Mission 2020 - it’s the year of Discipleship and Mega Evangelistic Reaping Summit for zones 1 – 3. This will be held in the EJC boardroom on Sabbath, October 12, beginning at 4:00 p.m. All First Elders, Personal Ministries Leaders, Sabbath School Superintendents, Youth Leaders and other Departmental Leaders are especially invited. 

3. Sabbath, November 9, 2019, there will be a Grand, Conference-wide Mission 2020 Prayer Convocation. Start praying and planning for an extraordinary Camp Meeting, December 18-22, 2019. A special blessing is instore!

3. Sunday, October 6, 2019 - Mental Health Seminar at EJC HQ; All Health Ministries Leaders, health professionals and other interested persons are invited to register and attend this seminar in the EJC boardroom from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 pm; contribution is three thousand five hundred dollars ($3,500) including lunch and material.
4. All Health Ministries Leaders and Lay Medical Missionaries who were recently trained are reminded of your meeting with Dr. Leonard on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the EJC boardroom.

Family Life, Women, & Children’s Ministries Department
1. Thanksgiving Service for ASI Missionaries for the safe return from Guyana mission will be held on Sabbath, October 12, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. @ Arnold Road S.D.A.
 
2. Women’s Retreat is in full flight for October 18-21, 2019 @ Jewel Runaway Bay. Please note that boarding is 9:30 a.m. with departure @ 10 a.m.
3. Women’s Symposium – Theme: “And you shall receive power”, Sabbath, November 16, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. @ EJC Boardroom. Main Speaker Shepherdess  Sharette Oliphant. 

4. Annual Bible Spellathon will be held @ EJC Boardroom on Sabbath, November 23, 2019 beginning at 3:00 p.m. Registration closes October 25.

The JAMU finals will be held on Sabbath, October 12, 2019, at the V.H. Percy Centre. Come on out let's support our EJC Finalists. 

Books to be studied are the Church Heritage Manual, sections 11-15 and Revelation 1-12.

Community Services Department

Our Week of Generosity will be celebrated from October 12 - 19, 2019. 
All churches throughout East Jamaica Conference are being asked to demonstrate charity and generosity, doing deeds of kindness throughout the week. The week of activities will climax with the Day of Kindness on Sabbath, October 19, 2019. Read the letter below for more details.

1. East Jamaica Conference Education Department through this medium expresses thanks to all new parents and guardians who have chosen Kingsway High & Prep Schools as their child’s/children’s home away from home for this new school year. We also say welcome to all new and returning students and parents!  As you embark upon this educational journey, walk hand in hand with God as your guide.
2. Please visit the nearest SDA Church to you and become a part of their evening classes for PEP and CSEC (if your church does not operate one). Classes are held on weekdays with Mathematics, English Language, Computer lessons, and much more.

NB.  Some churches are seeking volunteer teachers so that they can resume the learning   centres. If you are available to assist, your services are welcomed.

IADPA Bookstore Renovations
Please note that the IADPA Bookstore (HeadOffice), located at 74 Constant Spring Road, Kgn 10, is currently undergoing renovations. Therefore in the interim, the bookstore will be operating from the East Jamaica Conference Resource Center (same compound). The same opening hours apply.
