Bike Fit for Indoor Trainer Season

Pending winter or not, each year we hear about more people spending more of their ride time on trainers.  Is there a specific "trainer riding position" you should be aware of?  What type of comfort issues do riders experience on trainers?  How can they be resolved?

This post explores how your riding position and technique relate to riding a trainer.

(P.S. - If the time is right for a new trainer, please contact us.  We're happy to consult and help you find a great new trainer.  We represent great brands and we ship daily for those not in our backyard.

Ready to Use Zwift?

There is arguably no other app/platform that has revolutionized indoor riding more than Zwift.  Bringing together courses from around the world and making your local ride community truly international are just a couple of the reasons Zwift is so popular.

If you are ready to try virtual riding, Zwift is a good "first app" to try.  It works with "smart" trainers and "dumb" trainers.  While trainers are always changing, we outline what is needed to get going on Zwift with most styles of trainer in this post.

Are Custom Bikes Irrelevant Today?

Mass produced stock bikes are made better and fit better than ever before.  They are also priced well and provide a better ride experience than the best custom bikes from even a few years ago.  With brands like Cervelo, Specialized, Felt, Trek, Jamis, Parlee and others at our disposal, we're happy to help riders find a great mass produced bike that fits and rides great for them.

With all the great mass produced options, why would anyone consider a hand crafted specialty bike from a brands like Moots, Waterford, T-Lab, Parlee, K.Bedford, etc. today?  Here is our take on the topic as we head into the end of the second decade of this century.

Yes, We Offer Trade-Ins!

If you are not excited about navigating eBay or posting a bunch of old gear to club list serves, we may have an easy way to help you move your old gear along to someone else.

If you are buying a new pair of wheels or a new bike from us, we can get you quotes on the trade value of your old equipment and take care of the entire transaction for you.  This usually requires little more than us either seeing the product or you sending us a little bit of information and a picture or two of the items.  If the amount offered in trade works for you, you just leave the product with us and we apply the credit towards your purchase!

In addition to trade-ins, we do offer 9 month same as cash financing options.  For more information on how to use a trade-in and/or financing to help you get your new bike, contact us!
