Hello from the Able-Services Family!

We are excited to share with you some of the many activities and outings that our staff and participants have been involved in over the summer months. Be sure to follow us on our Facebook page to see the latest news and event announcements.
Able-Services Car Wash

The participants and staff at Able-Services worked hard to organize a car wash for Tuesday, July 23rd and Tuesday, September 17th. It was a chance to beat the heat and earn a little money to put toward something on our outing or facility wish list! It was entirely donation based. THANK YOU to everyone who was able to come and support the participants here! (Top: Cynthia guarding our donations. Bottom left: Maurice, Bryan and Bobbie helping to clean a car. Jewish Community Center Summer Fitness Classes

Fitness classes have been in full swing this summer, groups have continued to focus on building their strength in balance, coordination and power through fun exercises. The Thursday fitness group stretched their body's out with some easy yoga positions with their instructor Susannah. These paid fitness classes are offered throughout the year and are hosted by a JCC fitness instructor. (Photo: Instructor Susannah, Ben, William and Stephen)

Meals on Wheels Volunteering

Able participants volunteer for Meals on Wheels through two locations in York County, Golden Connections Senior Community Center and September House. Groups help serve our Senior Community by delivering food and doing wellness checks. (Photo: William delivering meals while volunteering.)

Greenhouse Highlight
This summer Mike, our greenhouse manager, taught us about Hydroponic Systems and groups learned how to start the growing process with pepper plants. which later were transferred to soil.  (Photo: Mike works with a group to hook up the Hydroponic System pump.)
