Hi Readers!

It's fall newsletter time.  Where has the summer gone?

I've been busy working on my Daisy's Tea Garden series. I'm already gearing up with the promotion for MURDER WITH CHERRY TARTS which will debut on November 26. I've added original recipes in this cozy as in others in the series. They include a recipe for Cherry Tarts, Chicken Soup and Sour Cream Cucumber Salad.

This summer I've been participating in book signings that include tea!  The latest was at the Pennsylvania Tea Fest in Mechanicsburg, PA.  Photos are included in this newsletter. The Rosemary House's quirky gardens are beautiful and fun.  I enjoyed meeting and chatting with readers. In November, I've planned a tea and signing at TranquilaTEA Tea Room and Gift Shop in Waynesboro, PA. It's another chance to talk with readers and learn about more teas!

Just a note that my husband and I have readied our property's feral cat shelters for winter and strays will have access to them. Some contain straw and others a heat pad. Bonnie and Clyde, our feral stray cats, have been coming in every night and I hope they continue to do the same throughout the winter. I'll be posting a blog soon on preparing for winter if there are strays nearby. Our five inside cats are enjoying their comfy lifestyle and are well and truly loved.

I hope you all have a warm and loving Thanksgiving. Hugs from me and my furry friends.

Best,
Karen

MURDER WITH CHERRY TARTS

MURDER WITH CHERRY TARTS, my fourth Daisy's Tea Garden mystery, is now available for pre-order.  It is a December 2019 release.

Here is a preview of the book:

In Pennsylvania’s Amish country, Daisy Swanson has a tea shop to run, a daughter to marry off—and a murder to solve . . .

Daisy’s worried one of her employees at Daisy’s Tea Garden may be in a spot of trouble. Lately Karina’s been loading up on soup and second-day baked goods at the end of her shift—and while the shop’s scrumptious treats may be hard to resist, Daisy suspects there’s more going on, especially since Karina has been seen hanging out in a rundown part of Willow Creek.

Planning her own daughter’s wedding is enough to keep her busy, but Daisy can’t help feeling a protective maternal instinct—and an instinct to investigate. It turns out Karina has been helping a down-on-his luck single dad who’s been making ends meet—barely—by selling antiques at a place called Pirated Treasures.

But when an employee at the antiques store is bludgeoned to death with a marble rolling pin, Karina’s new friend is suspect number one. Though the motives are muddy and steeped in intrigue, Daisy is more than determined to flush the real killer out.

The cats are settling in for cooler autumn temperatures that lead to winter's freeze. As you can see, they have comfy spots.  Bonnie and Clyde have theirs, too, in our basement. They come in every night and, on rainy and soon cold days, we keep them in. They settle in beds near a quartz heater or on a heat pad and sometimes combine their warmth. We're hoping for an easy winter but whatever comes, we'll keep all of them comfy and warm.
Until next time...

The chef at the Pennsylvania Tea Fest included a recipe that's in my mystery MURDER WITH CUCUMBER SANDWICHES. It was a pita sandwich with pimento spread and cucumbers!
FUN WITH READERS!

I was honored to be asked to participate in this year's Pennsylvania Tea Festival sponsored by The Rosemary House and Gardens and The Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop.  The event was held in the gardens of The Rosemary House in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  It featured entertainment, lectures, vendors and, of course, a full-service tea luncheon.

The literary corner hosted six cozy mystery authors who were scheduled over the two day event to give a short presentation followed by a chat session with readers where the authors could answer questions and sign copies of their books.

I enjoyed the camaraderie with my readers.  Chatting with them reaffirms what I hope to accomplish in my novels and they always give me new perspectives on what my readers like...whether it be shorter chapters, more than one murder or my sleuths' romantic relationships.
