THE ST. FRANCIS PRAYER

Our film about Fr. Rene gets its title from the sixth line of the Peace Prayer: where there is darkness, (let me sow) light.
 

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Just as the prayer says, Where There Is Darkness reaches beyond other movies and television shows that feature similar subject matter to present a tale of hope and mercy amid the tragedy.

Although the story is centered on a murder, it’s truly about the light that shone in darkness—a light that continues to shine and will only get brighter as we work to spread Fr. Rene’s story to the world.

St. Francis of Assisi Art, Statues, and Jewelry

 Several years ago, Stella Mar Pilgrimages gifted a free pilgrimage to Sawyer, a baby afflicted with blindness and other serious health issues.

At that time, however, his parents and doctors felt that he was too ill to make the journey.

Fast forward several years... Now that he's a toddler, Sawyer was finally healthy enough to visit Medjugorje! He and his family are here now with our group.

Queen of Peace Productions and Stella Mar Films documented the apparition and released this touching video about the event, with a special focus on the experience had by Sawyer and his mom. Watch our video.

A Note from Christopher and Jarred

Hello!

We are Jarred and Christopher, and we love Medjugorje! In fact, we're here right now doing an internship with Stella Mar.

We both recently graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville this past spring.

In 2017, while studying abroad in Gaming, Austria, we met on a weekend trip to Medjugorje. We formed a great friendship centered on our shared love of Our Lady and her apparitions here in Medjugorje.

Once we returned to the states, we both ended up in the same Men's Marian Fraternity at Franciscan University: The Knights of the Holy Queen. The brotherhood was founded over 25 years ago and was directly inspired by the messages of Medjugorje. 

From then on, our brotherhood has deepened in the united goal of serving Jesus and Mary.

We love Medjugorje and we are honored to serve alongside the team at Stella Mar Films and Queen of Peace Productions! These are incredible individuals with hearts of gold doing this work.

Our hope: That we can continue to serve Our Lord and Our Lady in whatever way we are called. Particularly in our favorite place in the world: this little village nestled between two hills.
