Get ready to fall into fun this Halloween at the DowntownDC Fall Festival! Join the DowntownDC BID and the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center for a day of free festivities that are sure to be a spooky good time.  

 

Bring your family, friends and co-workers out to Woodrow Wilson Plaza (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue) on Oct. 31 from 10am – 2pm where you can enjoy pumpkin decorating with BLICK Art Materials, kooky costumed characters, activations from DC Public Library, festive musical entertainment, local food vendors, and so much more!

 

Grab your cameras and prepare to let your ghoulish side show in your best Halloween costume as photo ops will be available. We hope to see you there!

Last year, the Washington Post declared that food halls were “having a moment,” and it appears that moment continues with a forthcoming spot called Feria Food Hall in Mount Vernon Square. A look at Anthem Row’s site plans shows that Feria Food Hall will be located on the ground floor, and a mezzanine on the second floor will look down on it. The space for the food hall is about 17,000 square feet. There are two more spaces still available for lease on the ground floor.

 

MICHELIN on Sept. 23 announced its Bib Gourmand 2020 list for the District which included seven restaurants in the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID). American/Chinese fusion restaurant, American Son, located in the Eaton Hotel (1201 K St) made its debut.

 

Pamela Nieto joined the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) on Sept. 30 as the new director of marketing and communications. Nieto will be leading the BID’s creative efforts—including branding, communications, marketing and events. “We are excited to welcome Pamela to our team to lead marketing and communications for the organization,” said BID President & CEO Neil Albert. 

 
 
 
 
The DowntownDC BID and the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center have once again teamed up this fall to offer another Capital Book Fest pop-up sale on Oct. 24 from 10am – 6pm on Woodrow Wilson Plaza. Browse through a selection of over 12,000 books, CDs, and DVDs all priced under $6 with proceeds benefiting local nonprofit Turning the Page.
 
The DowntownDC BID was honored with a Shining Star Award by the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) on Sept. 26. Each year, DOES recognizes the contributions of outstanding programs that seek to eradicate instances in which DC residents face barriers to employment due to deficiencies in education, work, experience, work training, work skills, prior incarceration, or the loss of certain occupations or industries from the economy of the DC Metropolitan Area. Congratulations to the other “shining stars” who were honored!
