Dear friends,
With hearts overflowing we share the news that Daniel Duane “3D” Deardorff, beloved singer, author, story carrier, teacher, life partner of Songwriting Works' founder Judith-Kate Friedman, founder of the Mythsinger Foundation, and devoted Songwriting Works' board member and guest artist, flew off on a great song, out of this awesome story into the next, on 9/19/19.
His daughters are hosting the first of several celebrations of Danny's life this Saturday 10/19/19 in Shoreline, WA (see below). A larger gathering is being planned for 02/22/20 in Port Townsend, WA.
Danny was surrounded by loving family and fulfilled his wish to live to the fullest and die naturally in his own time and love love love - teaching us to the last breath and beyond - how to hold paradox, love generously and generatively above all else, and pay attention - as we are all part of a Great Song.
Perhaps you know this man, his story and legacy--warrior, son, brother, polio survivor, musician in every cell of his being, father, recording artist, producer, mythologist, author, teacher, beloved husband and deep soul friend. Perhaps you'll be coming to know him now through his music, stories, and teachings - a legacy which Songwriting Works will help to share. Daniel leaves a body of yet-to-be published writings, music and story recordings, and Oral Tradition teachings carried by those who learned from and collaborated with him.
