COME TO PLAY


Oct 20—Pub Session: 2pm-5pm -The Barley Mow Merivale Road 1541 Merivale Rd, Ottawa ON. Pipers, fiddlers, box players, guitarists, singers and piano players, everyone welcome to come play some music with us.  From the 416 take the Maitland Ave. exit southbound, you'll end up right on Merivale Rd. There is parking in front of the building, enter off Capilano Dr. or Merivale northbound. Lots more parking just behind the building (by the gas station). On bus route 176.Website  Good food and good beer, breakfast served until 2pm.

Oct 27—Concert at Orchard Walk Retirement Community Fiddlers needed! Please come out and help entertain the residents at Orchard Walk, it's always a rewarding experience and it brings so much joy to the residents. Brian McLean is the coordinator for this event, please let him know by email to fiddlebear16@gmail.com if you can attend and to get the planned set list.  Orchard Walk is located at 1491 Manotick Station Road in Greely, ON.  We usually play for one hour, then visit a bit with the audience who always seem to thoroughly enjoy the upbeat music our group plays. It's important that we have some idea of who is coming so that the facility can plan how many chairs to set up.

Nov 3—Pub Session: 2pm-5pm -Gracie's Brew Pub and Music Hall (formerly Grace O'Malley's East Coast Pub) 1151 Ogilvie Road Google Map Spend an afternoon with your friends and family and some great down home style socializing. This session is a great place to meet up with friends over a pint or cup of tea while listening to a varied group of musicians play traditional Cape Breton, Irish and Scottish tunes. All players of fiddles, guitars, mandolins, whistles, accordions etc. welcome to join in. This session is mostly group playing with a few solos, let us know if you have something special to share with the group.

Nov 2—CD Release: 8pm ANNA LUDLOW | Wherever You Go -  A great big Celtic kitchen party to celebrate the release of Anna's latest recording. Driving fiddle music from Canada's East Coast, plus stepdancing and special guest performers will make this a night to remember. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to have fun!  Bring along your fiddle and play a tune with Anna, at the end of the show she'll invite anyone  present to join in a set of tunes. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. Advance tickets $15, available online until the day of the show. Same day tickets online or at the door $20.00. Kichesippi Beer Co. 2265 Robertson Rd. Back from a year as the lead fiddler in the Toronto production of the the hit Broadway Musical Come From Away, Anna Ludlow is ready to rock the house with a high-energy performance of traditional Celtic music that will have you dancing in the halls and singing along.

Nov 14—House Concert: 7:30 pm KEITH MULLINS | KEV CORBETT Hosted by Debbie and Gary at 138 Chimo Drive, Kanata. Reservations required! Doors open 7pm, concert 7:30 to 9:30. BYOB, snacks welcome. Suggested donation $20 per person collected at the door. Email garypalmer@rogers.com to reserve your seat. 

Nov 15—House Concert: 7:30 pm KEITH MULLINS | KEV CORBETT Hosted by Jen, Dan and Beth at  3581 McCartney St. in rural Ottawa South. Enjoy the sounds of these fabulous musicians in the warmth of a log home in a forested setting with a jam session/song circle to end the evening. Bring your instruments and singing voices! Reservations required, although there is usually room for one or two extras! BYOB, snacks optional but welcome. Doors open 7pm, concert starts at 7:30. Music-Chameleon Keith Mullins has been playing music all his life. Raised in Cape Breton, NS where his family played all styles of music from the hits to jazz, from Cape Breton fiddling to country, music runs thick through his blood. Keith is a multiple award winning songwriter with a degree in classical music and has studied with master drummers in West Africa and Cuba. From tender ballads that make audiences swoon to rockin' and funky dance beats it's hard to stay in your seat when Keith is playing. He's played around the world sharing the spotlight with some genuine musical greats such as Matt Anderson, Ron Hynes, Bruce Guthro, Lennie Galant, Gordie Sampson, Jimmy Rankin, Natalie MacMaster, The Mellotones, Garrett Mason and many, many more. garnered several industry Awards including two ECMAs and six Music Nova Scotia awards, of which two are for Musician of the Year. Keith plays over 250 shows a year and is currently touring across Canada to promote his latest album (Onward and Upward). Keith will be accompanied by Kev Corbett - pirate, a son of a preacher man, a carpenter, and a well-known character in East Coast music circles as well as being a bassist, drummer, and a song writer.
