Come along on Sunday the 27th October to celebrate the opening of the new Hallett Community Hub.
Official Opening by Rowan Ramsay MP, Mayor Peter Mattey OAM, Simon Klapish (Engie) and Fiona Sullivan (Hallett Community Hub) at 11am.
Free Community lunch and opportunity to come and try out the tennis courts and bowling club, as well as kids games, bouncy castle and henna painting.
Free Golden North ice cream for the kids.
ENGIE will also be providing free tours to get an up close and personal look at the Willogoleche Wind Farm as part of Clean Energy Open Day. Book your free ticket at willowindfarmtour.eventbrite.com
ENGIE are also offering a free bus pick up from Burra and Mount Bryan to the Hallett Community Hub for the event, if there is enough interest.

HALLOWEEN COMES BACK TO EUDUNDA...……..
Goyder YAC is bringing back its famous Trick or Treat trail back to the Eudunda Centenary Gardens. Not only will there be the spooky trail for kids of all ages to enjoy and bbq tea available but there will also be a FREE Outdoor Cinema Event following at 8pm. Bring a picnic blanket or bean bags and enjoy a night out, under the stars, at the movies with the screening of a surprise Halloween movie that everyone will enjoy. Its is going to be a SPOOKTACULAR night in Eudunda!

CENTRAL MID NORTH STARCLUB
Did you know that Council supports local Sporting and Recreational organisations/clubs
through the STAR CLUB program?
Have you met Council's STARCLUB Field Officer Samantha Freeman yet?
The Central Mid North STARCLUB Program is a joint initiative of the Office for Recreation and Sport and three Local Government Areas.
Participating Councils are:
- Regional Council of Goyder,
- Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council
- Wakefield Regional Council.
The STARCLUB Program Officer is an important community sport and active recreation resource and is able to support and assist local clubs and associations in many ways, including:
- Work with clubs and associations on strategies to maintain or increase their memberships
- Increase awareness of funding opportunities available to the sport and active recreation community
- Develop strategies and policies with clubs and associations that encourage safe and supportive environments
- Facilitate a range of training and development opportunities for coaches, officials and volunteers in clubs and associations
- Work with clubs and associations on strategies to recruit, retain and reward volunteers
- Advocate for and liaise on behalf of clubs and associations with Council, State Sporting Organisations and other interested parties
The STARCLUB Program Officer works with the community to:
- Develop and maintain a strong, vibrant sporting and active recreation culture
- Increase community participation in sport and active recreation
- Improve the quality of sport and active recreation opportunities
- Develop and maintain well managed sustainable sporting and active recreation clubs and associations
Clubs and associations are encouraged to utilise the Starclub Program Club Development Services to achieve club excellence and sustainability. This voluntary, free, online program is recognised throughout the State sports industry as a best practice governance model and highly regarded by organisations looking to invest in the sport and active recreation sector. NOMINATIONS FOR THE AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN
Each year the Regional Council of Goyder seeks nominations from the Goyder community for the following 3 categories-
- Citizen of the Year Award
- Young Citizen of the Year Award
- Community Event of the Year Award
Nominations are now open for community members, and groups, to nominate someone who makes a real difference in your town and to give them the opportunity to be rewarded and recognised for their important contribution.
The Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, and/or given an outstanding service over a number of years, to a local community over and above normal employment duties.
Outstanding contribution and community service includes areas such as; education, health, fund-raising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of a community.
Nomination forms are now available on the Council website and the Eudunda and Burra Council offices. You can also nominate online at citizenoftheyear.com.au
Nominations close Friday 15th of November 2019.

The staff and volunteers at the Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre (BGVIC) are very excited to announce the launch of the new ‘Visit Burra and Goyder" website. Full of information about events, attractions and businesses in the Goyder Region, the website is the ideal starting point for people looking to find out what’s happening in this part of the world and what we have to offer our visitors.

All gardens are home gardens, worked and lovingly tended by their owners. They are there for you to enjoy, take your time, stay the weekend and peruse the gardens and our beautiful district.

GRANTS FOR SENIORS
Grants for Seniors (GFS) fund organisations to provide opportunities for older South Australians to engage with the community.
Grants for Seniors enable community organisations across the state to apply for funding for projects that support older South Australians, including those from diverse communities and backgrounds, to age well and be recognised for their valued contributions across their lifetime.
Grants of up to $5,000 can pay for goods like equipment, materials or consumables that stimulate activity and social engagement for older people.
Up to $10,000 can be used for seniors’ cultural, social, educational or sporting projects.

Regional Agricultural Show Development
Grants Program
The Australian Government is inviting applications via a targeted competitive process to apply for funding under the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program (the program).
Funding will be available to eligible regional show societies for the maintenance and upgrade of existing infrastructure and the building, purchase, rent or construction of new infrastructure related to the running of an agricultural show on regional showgrounds.
The objectives of the program are to help:
- keep agricultural shows running
- bring communities together
- bridge the divide between country and city.

Tackling Tough Times Together (TTTT)
The Tackling Tough Times Together grant program helps communities access the resources they need to support one another through the ongoing effects of the drought.
Grants are available for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and assessed quarterly.
Three tiers of grants are available:
- Up to $20,000 – projects to be finalised within 18 months of approval;
- Up to $60,000 – projects to be finalised within 18 months of approval;
- Up to $150,000 – applications for this tier are by Expression of Interest, and multi-year projects (up to three years) are welcomed. Applicants must speak with the TTTT team to discuss their project before applying.

Grassroots Football, Cricket,
and Netball Facility Program
The Grassroots Football, Cricket, and Netball Facility Program is aimed at increasing participation and improving gender equity in Australian Rules Football, Cricket and Netball to support healthier, happier, and safer communities.
The program will assist eligible organisations to develop core infrastructure that directly impacts participation through rational development of good quality, well designed and utilised facilities.
Formal Applications Open: 11 September 2019
Formal Application Close: 13 November 2019 (12 noon)
