[NEW] EUROIMMUN Anti-sCD163 ELISA (Urine) Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Acute Glomerulonephritis in AAV or Active Lupus Nephritis
Soluble CD163 is a macrophage activation marker. The sCD163 level in urine correlates directly with the kidney disease activity, reflecting the accumulation of CD163+ macrophages in the glomeruli in response to pro-inflammatory stimuli.
A study led by Professor Mark Little showed that:
sCD163 levels in urine have increased significantly in up to 87% of patients with active ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) with renal involvement
Only slight increase in sCD163 was detected in AAV patients in remission, patients with acute kidney failure or sepsis, and patients with AAV without kidney involvement
There was great interest among KOL and clinicians on the use sCD163 as a new monitoring marker for renal AAV at the International Vasculitis and ANCA workshop 2019. Four presentations on CD163 were given at the meeting.
