Thanks to those who joined us for the September "Amplify Music on the West Side" symposium in Santa Monica.  We had about 70 venues, artists, public policy folks, and other great organizations join us to talk about how we can connect and grow better.  Thanks to all of those folks who have reached out to ask "what can we do next?"  More to follow shortly!  You can see related information at musicinla.org from our events in March and May 2019.

Check out links below for other music and related industry events in October and November.  And if you have folks to be on the podcast that will be at some of those events, please holler and we can connect.

And we're glad to share this week's podcast with Matthew Kowal from Majestic Collaborations on combining the best of festival management with emergency management, and their good work in Denver and now other cities.

Enjoy our recent Innovating Music podcast episode:

Episode: Art of Mass Gatherings
Guest: Matthew Ché Kowal, Founder, Majestic Collaborations; Denver Arts & Venues Music Strategy; Emergency Preparedness Consultant for Performing Arts Readiness

Matthew Ché Kowal is innovative in looking at a very specific set of overlaps in music. He has parlayed his experience in running festivals focusing on sustainability into work focused on mass gatherings. What can emergency workers learn from music festivals? What can festivals do to help heal from disasters? Matthew will talk about how he is bringing these two questions and other challenges together in Denver and beyond with his various projects and roles.
