Haiti Political Turmoil: School Closed
Dear Friends,
It is great to connect with you again. We started a new school year on September 9, 2019. We have added a brand new 5th grade elementary school with 303 students enrolled! What a blessing it is to know that we can provide education to Haitian children!
As many of you might be aware, the political situation in Haiti has been going on now for over five weeks, causing the whole country to be in a shutdown mode. Every school in Haiti had been closed until further notice including our school, Institution Mixte Jean Kedler (IMJK), due to concerns over the security of our students and staff.
We ask you to pray for peace to come back and that the country can start running again as normal and that our schools reopen so that we can continue to provide quality education for our students.
We will keep you abreast of the situation in Haiti as more events unfold. We pray that we will be able to report that the schools are reopened soon. Feel free to like and share our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter to get more updates. Thank you again for your support of YesImpact!
Yours Truly,
Jean Kedler Abelard
