UK to Japan to South Korea to somewhere in Cambodia...

UPDATE
It was a logistical nightmare, a hot sweaty mess and a race through Japan. It went something like this...

Our one-year Temporary Import for Japan was about to expire and our bike had to be out of the country imminently. The plan was to fly from Pakistan to Japan together and move the bike on. But our plans changed after Alissa's crash in Nepal.

So... (take a deep breath) I flew to Tokyo, spent 8 hours fixing the bike and then knocked out 800 miles over four sweaty days in unbearable heat from Tokyo to Shimonoseki. It took 8 hours a day to cover a mere 200 miles. The muggy humidity and constant 35C+ temps meant stopping every hour to drench myself in water and pour a bottle of water into my helmet.

Every night while camping, the heavens opened, thunder and lightning ensued and my tent turned into a steam room. The storm on the first night was so bad it was like lying on a waterbed using my mattress as a life raft.

I caught the ferry (just) from Japan to South Korea and spent a few hours convincing South Korean customs that I would not leave my bike in their country before they agreed to let me in. A quick race to the Busan port, slapped up a crate, stuck a postage label on the box and shipped it to somewhere in Cambodia where it's sitting right now.

Now, we're both in the UK, pouring over maps and planning our route from Cambodia to Australia. We estimate leaving sometime between December-January.

Happy travels and thanks for sticking with us,

Andy and Alissa

One of the benefits of riding in the heat is your bike doubles as a washing line. (Please ignore the pink pants on the top box. Thank you)
