DEADLINE TODAY!!!
Gibson Test of Cognitive Skills
October 25th

HERO is offering the Gibson Test of Cognitive Skills through Learning RX on Friday, October 25th. The Gibson test measure the performance of the following key cognitive skills:
  • short term and long term memory

  • auditory processing
  • visual processing
  • logic and reasoning

BOX TOPS for Education

My name is Jessica Proffit and I am taking over the Box Tops collection for HERO. There are some changes happening with Box Tops collection, they are moving towards collecting all Box Tops digitally. It is actually pretty easy to do. You can download the Box Tops app on your phone, simply find our school (school ID#954233 or zip code 55109) and scan your receipts into that app (it walks you through it, but you basically just take a picture of the receipt from top to bottom). The app finds the products that offer Box Tops rewards and it automatically adds to the school total, no waiting.

At this point, they are still accepting the Box Tops that are cut off of certain products. If you could get those to me as soon as possible that would be great as the first mail in is due November 1. You can put them in my parent file up front or I will be putting a collection box in the entry way as well starting next week.  If you would rather not download the app, feel free to put your receipts in my parent file folder or in the Box Tops collection box and I would be happy scan them in. Please feel free to contact me for any questions, my email is jessicaproffit@gmail.com. Thank you everyone for your efforts to help raise money for HERO

PARENTS! Parking at HERO

Parents please remember to pull all the way up past the Activity Center entrance to drop off your students in the morning. If all cars pulled up past the Activity Center doors, it would help keep traffic moving at a faster speed. Some of the parents have been cutting through the orange parking cones and going against traffic in order to park and drop off their students. The new parking system was implemented for the safety of the students.

If you have a teenage driver, please remind them to drive slow in the parking lot.  We have many little children crossing the parking lot throughout the day.  Please note the HERO one-way entrance and exit out of the parking lot.  All large vehicles need to park in the designed areas (near the basketball courts and church garden area).

HERO Parent Volunteers
Check In with Jayne before your shift

A reminder that all volunteer shifts need to check in with Jayne Wahlberg who is located in the main church building.  She has a walkie talkie on her.  You can use the walkie talkie of the volunteer person you are replacing to check in with her.  All volunteers need to sign out in the HERO volunteer book which is also located in the main church building in the Foyer of the main church building at the check in desk. There are many volunteer positions open in the sign up book. Please check the book for available volunteer shifts
