Congregation Lunch (Fundraising for Cambodia Project)
A congregation lunch will be held in the Barbara Darling Room on Sunday following the 10.30am service. There will be silent auctions and other opportunities to help raise funds to support the work of the Cathedral’s Cambodia Project in January 2020. All are very welcome. There is no need to book ahead. Cost of lunch: $12.

Pledges to support the Canon Missioner
It is now 6 months since we welcomed our new Canon Missioner, the Revd Canon Robert Vun, to minister here at the Cathedral. This appointment was possible through your generous pledges towards funding this new role. We are very grateful for the extraordinary response of the congregation! If you are yet to fulfil your pledge of support, would you please be so kind as to do so? You can place your donation in an envelope in the offertory plate with a note detailing how much you have pledged, or donate via direct debit, using these details: Account Name: St. Paul’s Cathedral, Bank: Anglican Development Fund. BSB: 703-122. Account Number: 05009216. It would be important to insert Reference: ‘Canon Missioner’. Many thanks!

Professional Standards Workshop
Volunteers who are yet to attend a professional standards seminar are encouraged to sign up for the one in the David Penman Room on Friday 25 October (10am-3pm). If you don’t know whether you are required to attend a workshop, you can email compliance@stpauslcathedral.org.au to check. Bookings can be made via this link: www.trybooking.com/BEEBM or by calling the Cathedral Office.

Serve Morning Tea
Our morning tea rosters are equal opportunity rosters. We need a few extra helpers to serve the tea and coffee and provide food. If you are able to assist with serving morning tea for the 10.30am Sunday service, please get in touch with Andrew Victorsen: avictorsen@stpaulscathedral.org.au or 9653 4210.

Next Seniors Meeting

Please Pray With Us For

The World
We pray for peace in Syria, for considered and peace-building responses from other nations as the US pull their troops out of that area, for containment of IS fighters, and sensible and productive discussion between world leaders; for the people of Hong Kong as protests and violence continue, for a just resolution of the situation; for the protection of the firefighters working to contain wildfires in Lebanon and Brazil; for just treatment of West Papuans by Indonesian authorities; for political stability in Africa, for the establishment of Mozambique’s new government, and fair elections for Tunisia.

A Prayer for Rain
Our heavenly Father, we acknowledge our ingratitude when we have taken your goodness for granted, when the heaven has poured forth rain and the earth has produced its fruit. Yet now we cry to you for help, as the drought in the Murray-Darling basin deepens. Have mercy on our land; have mercy on the people of the land. May your bountiful hand send forth rain upon our parched earth. Fulfil your promises that while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease, so that those in remote and rural areas may find relief from their distress and glorify your name for the provision of their needs.  We ask this in the name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
