The Future of Law Reform: Launch of the Final Report

2 December 2019

This year the ALRC has held a national conversation, asking the public what the priorities for law reform should be over the next three to five years. We heard from hundreds of Australians through an online survey, stakeholder consultations, and public seminars. We invite you to join us in this final public event to launch our report.

The event will highlight the law reform topics identified through consultations that the ALRC will put forward as suggestions for future inquiries. Join us to hear from ALRC President The Hon. Justice Sarah Derrington and inaugural ALRC Chairman The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG as they reflect on the role of the ALRC.

Inquiry update

Corporate Crime Inquiry

Following consultations with experts across the country and as far abroad as the United Kingdom, the ALRC is now wrapping up the first phase of consultations on the Corporate Crime Inquiry.

The ALRC will release its Discussion Paper for this inquiry in mid-November. Stakeholders will have until the end of January to make submissions on the paper, which examines ways in which to strengthen and simplify related legislation.
