Exploring the Christian Faith through the Bishop's Certificate


55 people in groups from Cradley Heath, Evesham, Droitwich, Malvern, Stourport and Worcester recently received a special certificate from Bishop John, marking the completion of a course designed to help them relate their Christian faith to their own life and locality. Read more.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Rome

42 pilgrims from across our diocese and the RC Archdiocese of Birmingham visited Rome on a week long trip led by Bishop John and Archbishop Bernard Longley.

New Lay Minister for Malvern Priory

Chris Boulton has been licensed as a Lay Minister in a service held at Malvern Priory. Chris has trained for the past year to take on this new role and has also recently completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Theology. Read more.
 

Big Bible Study 2019


Bishop John, will be joined by the Roman Catholic Archbishop for Birmingham, Bernard Longley and the Revd Judith Rossall, Methodist Minister and Tutor at The Queen’s Foundation Birmingham on Saturday 26 October to lead people from across Worcestershire and Dudley in a Big Bible Study.
All are welcome to the exciting and innovative event, which will look at the scriptures in interesting and challenging ways. Find out more.

  • West Mercia Police, the Churches Conservation Trust and the Diocese of Worcester are pleased to announce a free Heritage Crime Forum day event to take place at All Saints Church, Worcester, on Friday 8 November from 9.30am – 3.30pm. More information
  • The DAC meeting dates and application deadlines for 2020 have been published on the diocesan website. 
  • If you are looking for a resource to keep in touch with your baptism families, Baptism Books from our Calling Young Disciples team is a simple way to help support your families on their journey of faith. More information.
  • Thank you to those who have completed the survey about the diocesan website, if you haven't there's still time for you to share your thoughts on the current diocesan website, which will help us progress with plans for a new one. Please do take the survey, it should only take five minutes.
  • The next meeting of the Worcester Theological Society will take place in The Abbot's Kitchen at The Old Palace at 2pm on Thursday 14 November. All welcome. More information

  • 28 October - 3 November is a national week of prayer for Street Pastors and the Ascension Trust. Please join in the prayer using this calendar for the week.
  • Friends of the Holy Land will be marking their 10th Anniversary with an ecumenical service at Coventry Cathedral on 16 November at 10.30am followed by a National Conference with a light lunch provided at the nearby Welcome Centre at 12.30 pm. Find out more

Spiritual Direction network - “Reconciling our depths”: A talk by The Revd Daniel J Papworth

The Birmingham Analytical Psychotherapy Training: Public Lecture Series 2019-20
The Analytical Psychotherapy Training in Birmingham presents a series of five Public lectures over the course of the academic year which may be of interest to clergy in deepening their understanding of different kinds of human experience and suffering and how this may be worked with in psychotherapy. The lectures take place on Saturdays in an accessible venue in Central Birmingham. Find out more.
