Shirley Jackson's classic tale of supernatural horror and suspense is coming to Hole in the Wall Theater this fall! The story follows a small group of "psychically receptive" people brought together at Hill House, a brooding, mid-Victorian mansion known as a place of evil and "contained ill will." Led by the learned Dr. Montague, who is conducting research in supernatural phenomena, the visitors have come to probe the secrets of the old house and to draw forth the mysterious powers that it is alleged to possess—powers which have brought madness and death to those who have lived therein in the past.

One Weekend Only! Hitchcock & Horror October 25th and 26th

Hole in the Wall Theater warmly welcomes Herstory Theater for a one weekend production of Hitchcock & Horror - a two act radio play showcase that is delightfully creepy.

Act One will be "The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry, based on the film by Alfred Hitchock, with original music by Ed Rosenblatt is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc (www.playscripts.com). “The 39 Steps” by Alfred Hitchcock is a masterful blend of horror, comedy and romance; the movie is considered the template for the more well-known “North by Northwest”. It was the second in a series of films that established Hitchcock’s reputation as a master of thrillers, skillfully addressing the great perils, intrigues, and romance of “modern” times.

Joe Landry has redramatized the movie, incorporating elements from other sources including the original novel on which the film was based, later versions of the story as a radio show, and his own imaginative reinvention to raise up the presence of an authentically “vintage” Hitchcock of the 1920s and ‘30s, complete with live sound effects and commercial jingles.

The second act follows with “To The Dogs”, the world premiere of an original vintage Halloween radio play by Bill Arnold, a member of the Herstory Theater Company and Hole in the Wall Theater. “To The Dogs” is a thriller in the style of a vintage live radio show, but with a more modern sensibility…and sense of humor.
