This week we would like to introduce you to our new Sector Theme Groups. These Groups look at the core elements that drive excellence in the sector. Through discussions with the North East industry, these have been identified as; Innovation, Skills, Sustainability and Wellbeing. These themes run throughout the work of the sector and by harnessing existing knowledge and experience and embracing new ideas and initiatives, the industry, our clients and future users can benefit.
In addition, we also plan to set up a North East Construction Clients Group which is a place where both experienced and new construction clients can come together in a safe place to discuss how they can benefit most from constructive and collaborative working relationships with the industry.
Last but not least, we have a group looking at Procuring for Value with the aim for the North East to be identified as the home for Procuring for Value. This group is already in place due to imminent deadlines although we would be keen to hear from anyone interested in getting involved.
The activity and outcomes of these groups will be determined by those involved. It may be regional research, conferences, reports or specific regional strategies. We are excited to find out where this work will take us. It is expected that groups will meet three times a year with the potential for additional work as necessary.
So if you are a Constructing Excellence North East Member and interested in getting involved, please contact Kate Lloyd at kate@cene.org.uk or call 0191 5007880. If you are not sure if your organisation is a CENE Member, please check our membership pages where all members are listed, or you can apply to join online here - http://cene.org.uk/membership/
We are excited to find out where this work will take us and look forward to you joining us on the journey.
To finish we have lots of events going on, including our Annual Quiz, so please read on.
Best wishes
Catriona
