Chippawa West Park Opening
& OLG Community Recognition Program
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

NIAGARA FALLS, ON - The City of Niagara Falls will officially open the Chippawa West Park & recognize OLG for its contributions to Operation Awesome Playgrounds with a ribbon cutting celebration on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The park is located at 9327 Emerald Avenue, Niagara Falls.

The new neighbourhood park in the Chippawa West Subdivision includes an accessible playspace area, artificial turf safety surface, accessible trails, bench fitness stations, seating, signage, and landscaping.

Operation Awesome Playgrounds, which has seen the development of 30 new playgrounds was made possible with the support of the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation (OLG) hosting fees which were paid to the City for hosting the Niagara Casinos.

“This year we will mark 30 parks that Operation Awesome Playgrounds has been able to rejuvenate!  This is an awesome milestone, but we aren’t stopping here. Our partnership with OLG has provided us the opportunity to do so much good for our community and we are so proud of it!  Thank you to OLG for your continued support and for celebrating with us and the families of Chippawa West as we officially cut the ribbon on their new park!”   -Mayor Jim Diodati

“OLG is proud of the role we play in strengthening Niagara Falls and each of our host communities,” said Tyjondah Kerr, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager, “Each and every year 100 per cent of OLG proceeds are invested in Ontario. Since December 1996, Niagara Falls has received more than $141.3 million in hosting funds. From healthcare, to education, to community festivals, OLG proceeds are hard at work in Niagara Falls and all across our province. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming site employees in making life in Niagara Falls that much richer.”
