Have you been there? It's a great bookshop, with excellent stock. They've already sold several copies of Greta Thunberg's book.
Not been yet? Why not give it a try.

Future Homes Standard
Government Consultation
https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/the-future-homes-standard-changes-to-part-l-and-part-f-of-the-building-regulations-for-new-dwellings
“This consultation sets out our plans for the Future Homes Standard, including proposed options to increase the energy efficiency requirements for new homes in 2020. The Future Homes Standard will require new build homes to be future-proofed with low carbon heating and world-leading levels of energy efficiency; it will be introduced by 2025.
This document is the first stage of a two-part consultation about proposed changes to the Building Regulations. It also covers the wider impacts of Part L for new homes, including changes to Part F (ventilation), its associated Approved Document guidance, airtightness and improving as-built performance of the constructed home.”
Consultation closes on 10th January 2020.
There are a few of things about this. First, this is the same Government that scrapped the Zero Carbon Homes Standard. Second, it’s likely that there will be push back from the more traditional parts of the house building industry. Thirdly, the phrase “world-leading levels of energy efficiency”. I wonder what the chances are of that being reality on a scale of 0 – 10 when compared with Scandinavian and Canadian levels of house energy efficiency....
I’ll be aiming to have read the document before the November Newsletter appears. In the meantime it should be noted that some local authorities are at loggerheads with Government, as the Government is proposing to prohibit local authorities imposing higher levels of energy efficiency in new homes than the national standard. If that happens, it will tie DBC’s hands.
