Announcing a New Workshop:
eVTOL Infrastructure for UAM
Following on the Vertical Flight Society's very successful Workshop on eVTOL Defining Challenges, Sept. 10-12, in Washington, DC, VFS is now planning a follow-on 2-day in-depth Workshop on Infrastructure for Urban Air Mobility at the FAA's Tech Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey, March 24-25.
Presentation slides from last month's eVTOL Defining Challenges are available for free for attendees and all current VFS members. (Note: if you have never downloaded anything from the VFS Vertical Flight Library, you must first create an account. Contact membership@vtol.org if you need help.)

The 76th Annual Forum and Technology Display will be held May 19-21, 2020 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, with the theme, “The Future of Vertical Flight.”
The VFS Annual Forum is the world's leading international conference on vertical flight technology. The three-day event will include more than 200 technical presentations on every discipline from Acoustics to Unmanned Systems. Register to Attend the VFS Transformative Vertical Flight Meeting
The Transformative Vertical Flight 2020 will take place in San Jose, California, Jan. 21-23, 2020. It includes the following meetings:
- 7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium: 50+ invited speakers discussing the latest plans and progress in electric and hybrid-electric VTOL, urban air mobility and disruptive electric aviation technologies.
- Aeromechanics For Advanced Vertical Flight Technical Meeting: A forum for discussions of emerging aeromechanics challenges and solution methods for future VTOL aircraft. Abstract topics are invited in all areas related to rotorcraft aeromechanics.
- International Powered Lift Conference (IPLC): The premier event for engineers, technologists and managers to discuss the developments in jet, prop and rotor-powered vertical and/or short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) aircraft research, concepts and programs. IPLC 2020 will focus on three primary areas: advanced rotorcraft, jet-lift concepts and technologies and progress in propulsion applications such as electric VTOL.
A record number of technical papers will be presented as part of this action-packed 3-day event! In addition, the VFS Short Course on Electric VTOL Fundamentals will be given on Monday, Jan. 20, and a tour of NASA Ames Research Center is planned for Friday, Jan. 24.
