Speak with AWSNA Visiting Team
We are looking forward to welcoming our guests from Waldorf Schools across North America this coming Sunday for their 3-day visit. If you see some new faces on campus Monday to Wednesday, please make them feel welcome; they are working very hard for us.
If you are interested in having a one-on-one conversation with a member of the AWSNA Visiting Team, be sure to select an open time slot. Team members have made time available on Tuesday, October 22 to meet with parents and community members. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, simply enter any initials rather than your name when signing up.

VWSS AGM - Save the date for October 30, at 7:00 pm for our Annual General Meeting. The purpose of the AGM is to confirm Society membership; consider reports, financial statements and the report from the accounting review engagement for the year ended June 30, 2019; appoint up to 5 Members to fill vacancies on the Board of Trustees; and conduct other business that may properly come before the meeting.

COMMUNITY CHOIR - Inviting all eager singers (age 18+) to join Fa la la Lorna Fortin in preparing songs to present at the Children's Winter Fair on November 23 and at the Fairytale Performance / Waldorf100 Celebration on November 28. If you are not able to perform but would simply like to sing, you are still welcome! Rehearsals will be Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 pm at our High School campus at 3255 Edgemont Blvd, North Vancouver starting October 17th.

During their walk through Hunter Park this week, 2nd Grade students were thrilled to encounter an owl up in the branches of one of the trees. Look closely at the top, right corner of the photo to see the white owl at rest.

Grade 3 has had a busy past few weeks building and working with their hands. Their latest class project was to build a traditional sukkah to celebrate the festival of Sukkot. Special guests Rabbi Philip and parent, Lauren Hornor, visited the class and offered a blessing. The sukkah will be dissembled by volunteers on Friday afternoon; come take a look beforehand, if you can.

CHILDREN'S WINTER FAIR
There's magic in the air...
Planning for this year’s Children’s Winter Fair has been underway for the last year and we are excited to share news about what is in store for the big event. Being that this is the year of celebrating 100 years of Waldorf education, the intention for the Fair is to create more space for community connection and celebration.
The original impulse for the Fair, when it was birthed 49 years ago, was that it would be a magical seasonal gift created by parents for the children. That impulse will always be honoured, as will the years of time, attention, and care dedicated to the Fair by the thousands of parents, guardians, and grandparents over the years.
