BAR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.
Sunday trading at the bar starts this weekend.  We really need more bar helpers as we are getting low on our bar volunteers. It's a great way to meet people and really simple to serve behind the bar. You would only be needed two hours every 6-8 weeks. If you can please help out, please contact bar.manager@monavaleslsc.org.au

See you on the beach
Bryce

Club News

Congratulations to all MV team whom competed at Newport Carnival last Saturday. You all should be very pleased with your off season progress and the coaches were very impressed.

Special mention to our team mates Eliza Monnock, Luka Monnock and Zac Wasley whom have been recognised by the Sydney Northern Beaches (SNB) Branch selectors.  They have been successfully selected to be part of the team representing SNB Branch at the 2019 Interbranch championships on 6 and 7 December in Bulli.

This is a tremendous achievement as it has been many many years since Mona Vale has anyone selected let alone three athletes.

Mass Rescue Mean No Holiday for Hero Lifesavers

Alex Taylor from Mona Vale SLSC, Jemima McGahey from Palm Beach SLSC and a group of their friends, most of whom are volunteer surf lifesavers, were on a camping holiday at the Booti Booti National Park south of Forster over the October long weekend and have emerged as unsung heroes after performing back-to-back rescues.

Dee Why Bennett Board Carnival Wrap Up
What a perfect way to start the junior carnival season, with blue skies and a bit of shore break keeping us on our toes at Dee Why Beach on Sunday 20 October.

With 40 competitors from Mona Vale lining up to participate. We had our youngest water babies in the U9’s giving it their first go in the surf, through to our seasoned competitors in U14’s on their new mals. kids competed in individual board races, mixed board relays and an all age board relay team to cap off the day.

After a winter of training, so pleasing to see everyone getting stuck back into racing and lots of smiles and fun being had across the beach. Also some great results coming through in each age group.

As always thank you to all our support parents filling a vast number of duties across the beach. Without your assistance we simply cannot compete, so thank you.
