International Student Immersion Program

The Society of Jesus has made plight of migrants one of its priorities. In Central and North America, the Jesuit Refugee Servie (JRS) has promoted the relationship between the Jesuit Universities.   From the work developed in the various forums of the Network, academic links have arisen between different institutions.
 
Each semester, since 2007/2018 academic year, the Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO) - Mexico City in collaboration with Loyola University Chicago (LUC) and The Catholic Charities of Chicago carry out the successful international student immersion program focused on migration issues "Academic Practice and Social Service with Mexican migrant population in Chicago, U.S.A.".

La Compañía de Jesús, a nivel internacional, ha establecido como una de sus prioridades la atención a los flujos migratorios. En Centroamérica y Norteamérica el Servicio Jesuita a Migrantes (SJM) ha promovido la relación entre las Universidades confiadas a la Compañía de Jesús.   A partir de los trabajos desarrollados en los diversos foros de la Red, han surgido vínculos académicos entre diferentes instituciones.
 
Desde 2007 cada semestre a la fecha, la Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO) - Ciudad de México en colaboración con Loyola University Chicago (LUC) y The Catholic Charities of Chicago llevan a cabo el exitoso programa internacional estudiantil de inmersión enfocado en temáticas migratorias “Práctica académica y Servicio Social con población mexicana migrante en Chicago, EE.UU.”.

Jesuit Universities to the Service of Faith

Ernesto Cavassa SJ, President of AUSJAL and Rector of Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University, sent this letter to the conference of provincials where he reflected on the evolution of the perspective on the service of faith in the educational institutions of the Society of Jesus in Latin America in recent years.
