Meet-Up: Workforce Fridays

Hello <<First Name>>,

Join us at the Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington (SMGW) for our next Meet-Up: Workforce Fridays on October 25th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 5101 16th St NW. SMGW is a faith-based community partnership connecting District residents facing poverty, homelessness and other challenges with SMGW’s volunteers and staff as part of a shared ministry to improve the lives of all Washingtonians.

In 2016 SMGW merged with STRIVE DC, a local nonprofit that helped chronically unemployed residents transform their lives through employment, to increase and expand its capacity, programming and services. SMGW integrated STRIVE DC’s nationally recognized 5-pilliar workforce model to complement SMGW’s Next Step Program, which empowers participants to set and take manageable steps towards accomplishing their goals. Please sign up to join us to learn about how Samaritan Ministry of Great Washington is helping to empower its program participants to transform their lives.

Workforce Fridays is a peer-learning opportunity designed for local practitioners, businesses and stakeholder partners to learn and tour the site of a training program and/or facility.

Through our monthly Workforce Fridays we want to elevate and platform the approaches, programs and services employed by workforce development and adult literacy providers to train and equip a skilled workforce.  CNHED’s Workforce Fridays are also intended feature best practices and share information that can be used in preparing local residents for high-demand employment opportunities that pay a living wage.
