The Accolades Luncheon is a signature event and fundraiser that enables Children at Risk to fulfill its mission of speaking out and driving change for children. In tradition, Children at Risk will also celebrate community members and organizations who are doing outstanding work to ensure every child in our state has the opportunity to be safe, healthy and successful through the Academy Awards of Child Advocacy.
DFC invites you to participate in our monthly DFC Membership meeting which brings together committee leaders, student chapter leaders, co-presidents, board members, and key stakeholders to discuss project updates and engagement opportunities. During this meeting, committees will break out into individual groups to discuss specific goals and objectives. This meeting is open to anyone interested in getting involved with Doctors for Change. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued a proposed rule that, if finalized and implemented, would significantly roll back a vital protection against housing segregation and discrimination.Specifically, the proposed rule would erode the disparate impact legal theory used to protect against housing discrimination. The disparate-impact theory has been critical in advancing access to safe, affordable, and stable housing for women, women of color, LGBTQ people, immigrants, gender-based violence survivors, families with children, people with disabilities, and so many more.
