You cannot come to Stand Up for Nuclear?
You cannot come neither to Paris, nor to London, Dublin, Trieste, Varsovie, Amsterdam, New York, Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Seoul, Johannesbourg... nor to any town in the world where the StandUp takes place?
Yes, those who cannot come can also participate!
A web live version of Stand Up for Nuclear (Sit In for Nuclear)
is set up for those who cannot be present in real life events.
Proposed by Generation Atomic, at the same time as Stand Up, defenders and experts of nuclear from all around the world will join "Zoom" webinar online and share in a 5-10 minutes time each, their experience and motivation in support of nuclear energy.
Unfortunately, due to my severe ankle/leg injury last month, I can't stand up for anything, (even nuclear)! I also realize that not everyone who would like to participate in a Stand-Up will be near one of the events. So that got me thinking... "Maybe we can have an "online stand-up", and use it as an opportunity to tell an epic story about nuclear power and the environment, through the voices of those that "stand up" for it (literally) or fight for nuclear in some other aspect of their life!
So-- on Oct. 20th, this "Sit In For Nuclear" will take place from 05:00 - 15:30 EDT. During this time, nuclear advocates and experts from all over the world will join a live-streamed "Zoom" Webinar and share 5-15 minutes of their experience and motivations for supporting nuclear power. Gen A volunteers will also be breaking up the interviews with songs, short videos, advocacy tips, and calls to action.
What do you think? Can you make it? I was hoping you could share a bit from your stand-up and some comments about how France has shown the world how to decarbonize your electricity when you don't have a huge hydro resource? If so-- pick a time slot here and we'll plan on talking for 5-15 minutes (which will be streamed live on facebook).
