A Weekly Updte from Grace Presbyterian Church

We don’t always send out two emails a week, but when we do, it’s because we are so excited about the work Grace is doing in God’s Kingdom!

This Sunday will kick off Food Week of Action and World Food Day! Check out the link to see what other congregations are doing, get inspired, and find hope that the PCUSA is changing hunger in our world.

Our own congregation has several things seeding (see what I did there) in our garden of community work, awareness, and action. On Wednesday, October 16 Grace is teaming up with United Way to get our gardens at Tobin Park up and growing!

Want to know how you can participate?

·       Volunteer!

  •   Along with 28 United Way volunteers, we hope Grace’s novice and pro gardeners will join us at Tobin Park from 8:30-12:30. Come in your dirt ready clothing and shoes.

·       Simply Bring a Tool!

  •  Even if you can’t be there to volunteer, you can bring a SHOVEL or a WHEELBARROW to the church on Sunday or bring it right to Tobin Park on Wednesday.

·       Post, Like, and Click!

  •  As well as learning all about Food Week and World Food Day from the PCUSA website, we hope you’ll share Grace and the greater PCUSA’s work on social media. Make sure to hashtag your posts! #pcusa #foodweekofaction #worldfoodday #matthew25church
  •  Check out the national Facebook page, follow and share!

·       Pray!

  •  Pray for Grace’s continued work
  •  Pray for our motivation to turn into even more solutions to healthy, sustainable, fair food.
  •  Pray for those who hunger near and far.
  •  Pray for the work of the PCUSA
  •  Pray for those hurt (family farmers, ranchers, local grocery stores) by greedy industries.
