“I am the Bread of Life,” Jesus told them.  John 6:35
Our annual fall Worship by the Water will happen in Navarre Park on October 13 at 10:30 am with lunch to follow.  Lunch will be catered by Vinnie Rs.  This is a celebration of all that the volunteers do throughout the year.

What's New

Worship by the Water reminders
Members, please remember to bring chairs tomorrow for Worship by the Water.  We want to make sure that the chairs we bring from church are available for guests as much as possible.
Also bring sun block, umbrellas, or some kind of shade as we're expecting a pretty bright sunshine day.

Fall clean up
We are putting in some time on Saturday October 19 starting at 9:00 am for some fall clean up around the property at church.  We have outside work and inside work to get accomplished.  It would be great if some of you could join us.

Veteran's Day Roll Call
This Veteran’s Day we would like to recognize anyone connected to Risen Savior that is serving or has served in the military.  Please send an email to Pastor or sign up on the sheet under the mailboxes service member’s name, branch, years of service, connection to you, and highest rank achieved.  Can be yourself or a close family member.
On Friday October 4 a group of volunteers from Risen Savior helped out for United Way's Day of Caring.  It was a great opportunity and a fun day.  Yes it was also hot!  Thanks for all who volunteered!

News and Notes

Welcome Home Sunday
“God said, ‘Let there be light’” (Genesis 1:3). God wasn’t simply expressing a wish, like walking into a dark home and saying, “Let’s turn some lights on.” God was calling a new reality into existence. “And there was light.” When God speaks, reality results.
When God tells you that you are a saint, you might want to say, “But, I sin every day!” True enough, but God has spoken. He sent his Son to live, die, and rise for you, creating a new reality. In your baptism, God himself spoke to you, telling you that you are pure and blameless. And when God speaks, reality results.
Throughout Scripture, God refers to believers as a family. That is more than metaphor. That is God calling a new reality into existence. Our privilege and responsibly is to seize the power given us through our baptism and live out that reality. We are called by Christ to show the same level of love and self-sacrifice that would show to biological kin.
On October 20th, we will be holding Welcome Home Sunday. Welcome Home Sunday is a celebration of this reality. On that day, we praise God for giving a spiritual family… a spiritual home. Our goal for that Sunday is to make it into something of a spiritual family reunion.  God has told us we are family. And when God speaks, reality results. Please, set aside that date and join your brothers and sisters in Christ!

Google or Facebook reviews
Please consider going to our Facebook or Google pages and leaving us a review.  This goes a long way in helping guests to know what to expect if they visit.

Online Giving is here
Many of us pay our bills entirely online, buy things online, and generally spend a good amount of time online.  Now you can give to the gospel ministry of Risen Savior online too.  It’s available through Tithe.ly.  The easiest way to start is to download the app.  You will be able to set up one time gifts, recurring gifts, monitor and change anything right from your phone.  You can also access it from risensaviorchurch.org and click “Give” in the upper right hand corner.  We are excited about this additional way in which you can give your gospel motivated offerings to the Lord for the ministry work we are doing here.

Why would Jesus tell us to hate our families in order to follow him?

This week on Sunday

What can a shrewd dishonest manager tell us about how we are to manage our mammon?  And what's mammon?  Those questions answered and more as we study God's Word together Sunday in worship.
