Monday Club Meeting – Note change of venue and time.

Start time:     6pm

Venue:         Johnny Cash Room, Arts Centre, NMIT, Carpark 7, Nile St, Nelson.

 Presentation Evening of the 2019 Nelson National Triptych Salon.

View a print display of high awarded triptych entries and an audio visual of all accepted entries from throughout NZ.
Julie Catchpole, one of the three judges, will give a short talk followed by the presentation of the awards. 

Those members who are a dab hand in the kitchen might like to contribute a plate of nibbles to go with the wine. 

Come, enjoy. Bring your partner or a friend or both. Evening will finish about 8pm.

The Nelson Camera Club AGM is coming up on the 11th November 2019
 
WE NEED YOU
The club can’t function without you!
 
We need nominations for the executive and committee to manage your camera club. All roles are up for re-election.
 We need nominations for the following roles:
  • President    
  • Vice president                         
  • Secretary  
  • Treasurer                                
  • Committee (5)

 The role of the Committee is to:   
(a) Administer, manage, and control the Club   
(b) Carry out the purposes of the Club, and Use Money or Other Assets to do that   
(c) Manage the Club’s bank accounts  
 (d) Decide how a person becomes a Member, and how a person stops being a Member 
  (e) Decide the times and dates for Meetings, and set the agenda for Meetings  
 (f) Decide the procedures for dealing with complaints  
 (g) Recommend Membership fees   
(h) Make regulations  
The Committee has all of the powers of the Club, unless the Committee’s power is  limited by these Rules, or by a majority decision of the Club. 
Members of the Committee shall serve on a voluntary basis and only committee authorized expenses incurred in the course of the Club’s business shall be reimbursed.  
The Committee will set the Rules & Criteria for all Internal Competitions, and will appoint one or more Competition Secretaries. 
The Committee may appoint one or more Masters of Ceremony who will lead regular Club Meetings.

Section 16 ~ Charities Act 2005 16 Qualifications of officers of charitable entities

  • A person who is not disqualified by this section is qualified to be an officer of a charitable entity.
  • The following persons are disqualified from being officers of charitable entities:
  • an individual who is an undischarged bankrupt:
  • an individual who is under the age of 16 years:
  • an individual who, or a body corporate that, has been convicted of a crime involving dishonesty (within the meaning of section 2(1) of the Crimes Act 1961) and has been sentenced for that crime within the last 7 years:
  • an individual who is prohibited from being a director or promoter of, or being concerned or taking part in the management of, an incorporated or unincorporated body under the Companies Act 1993. the Securities Act 1978. the Securities Markets Act 1988. or the Takeovers Act 1993:
  • an individual who, or a body corporate that, is disqualified from being an officer of a charitable entity under section 31(4):
  • an individual who is subject to a property order made under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988. or whose property is managed by a trustee corporation under section 32 of that Act:
  • a body corporate that is being wound up, is in liquidation or receivership, or is subject to statutory management under the Corporations (Investigation and Management) Act 1989:
  • in relation to any particular entity, an individual who, or a body corporate that, does not comply with any qualifications for officers contained in the rules of that entity.
  • Subsection (2] does not apply to an officer of an entity if that officer was appointed, under an Act, by the Governor-General, by the Governor-General in Council, or by a Minister.
  • The Commission may, by written notice to an entity, waive the application of any of the disqualifying factors set out in subsection (2)(a) to (q). in relation to an officer of that entity.
  • If the Commission waives the application of a disqualifying factor set out in subsection (2)(a) to (g). the officer to whom the waiver relates must not be treated as being disqualified from being an officer of a charitable entity in relation to the entity by reason of the application of that disqualifying factor.
  • The waiver may be granted on any terms or conditions that the Commission thinks fit.
  • The Commission may vary a waiver in the same way as a waiver may be granted under this section.
  • The Commission may, by written notice to an entity, revoke a waiver granted under this section.

Subsection (2)(d) was substituted, as from 25 October 2006, by section 25 Securities Amendment Act 2006 (2006 No 46).

 

Motueka Camera Club has pleasure in inviting Nelson Camera Club and their partners to a Christmas Dinner at the Sprig and Fern, Mapua, at 5.30pm for drinks and dinner at 6pm. on Saturday, 30th November.
The cost for the dinner will be $35pp.  Could your members please reply to
motuekacc.info@gmail.com by 15th Nov.  Any dietary requirements please let us know then.

2020 National Exhibition  - Registration Opens on 1st November

Jack Sprosen Memorial Trophy Competition for Audio-Visual sequences

 

We would like to encourage everyone to create an audio-visual and enter it in this year’s competition.  The competition is being organised by the New Brighton Photographic Club on behalf of PSNZ

Entries Open: 14th October 2019

Entries Close:   16th November 2019

Judging: 30th November 2019

Judges are:

The main change this year is the allowance for short video or timelapse sequences to be included.
