Show your KBAD spirit in the
Kyle Founders' Day Parade!

KBAD has reserved a spot in Kyle's Founders' Parade on Saturday, Oct. 19, and we are looking for participants to walk with us.

We will have a classic Dodge Power Wagon with room for a few riders. Most of our participants will be walking the route passing out candy and voter education information for the November elections. We are looking for a diverse representation of our members, including families who would like to bring their children along perhaps for a wagon ride down Center Street. It's a relatively short parade route so the pace is not too fast.

If you are available to walk with us in the parade, we need folks who can meet up with us at Gregg-Clarke Park at 9 a.m. so we can be in position and ready to go when the parade starts at 10 a.m.

KBAD member Michelle Cohen is heading up the coordination of this event. If you have any questions, please contact her by email.

Kyle City Council Candidates Q&As

Kyle voters have four candidates to consider when heading to the polls for the November 5, 2019 elections.

Incumbent Dex Ellison and challenger Yvonne Flores-Cale are running for the Place 1 seat. And incumbent Robert Rizo and challenger Amanda Stark are running for the Place 3 Kyle City Council seat.

The Place 1 and 3 spots on the council are at-large seats so any registered voter in the City of Kyle can vote in these elections.

Kyle/Buda-Area Democrats sent each candidate a questionnaire to answer where they stood on various issues affecting the City of Kyle. Flores-Cale did not respond to the questionnaire.

KBAD currently does not make endorsements in local races, but we encourage area Democrats to learn about these candidates to decide which ones will best advocate for Democratic values in these important leadership roles.

Election Day is Nov. 5, and early voting will occur on Oct. 21 – Nov. 1. See the Hays County Elections website for times and locations for early voting and for election day.
