moon dance...

Tonight is the hunter’s moon.

You can find all sorts of lore, science, and meaning around this.

To me, it’s simply another full moon. And that’s reason enough to stand outside and wonder a bit.

If you asked, I could not tell you why each month when the moon is full, I head out doors and lift my face to the sky when I might be sleeping. Perhaps it’s stories I’ve read or movies I’ve seen, a perfect alchemy of magical thinking and science.

But there is something different about the night... Some conversations require the light of day, while others can only be had after the sun has set. Our eyes cannot see as far and so we must attend to a different sort of awareness. Night offers us an occasion to hush our voices and engage in an intimate listening. It is when we rest, restore, and dream…

It is no surprise that this astronomical body that affects the tides of the world would hold some sway over us… maybe even inspiring a little dance...

always in motion,
fia

thoughts for the week...

We talk a lot around here about what it means to move towards rather than away from or against. Sometimes that requires a bit of (re)invention. See Fia's take on this (and a link to that miso caramel sauce she mentioned) in her essay this week: (re)inventing yourself...
