THE LATEST BARTLETT & INDUSTRY NEWS OCTOBER 2019 EDITION
Welcome to OUR ZONE. The email news that keeps you up to date with everything that’s happening between truck and trailer. In these regular updates we aim to share our thoughts on industry news, legislative changes, emerging trends and, of course, new Bartlett product developments.
|  INDUSTRY NEWS
A recent news item that caught our interest was a product advisory from BPW Transpec. We think it is a good reminder for vehicle owners, parts buyers & sellers and fitters in our industry and certainly applies to our range of heavy vehicle towing solutions.

We also look forward to visiting the planned trucking museum in Shepparton. Well done to all involved in making the museum a reality in the heart of the Goulburn Valley.

Use of non-genuine or pirate components

TRAILER MAG: BPW Transpec advises users and buyers of Ringfeder couplings and drawbar eyes, that use of non-genuine or pirate components in the coupling or drawbar eye will invalidate the R55 and ADR certification.

Truck museum planned for Shepparton

OWNER DRIVER: A truck museum proposed for Shepparton, Victoria, will recognise the region’s trucking pioneers. The museum will include a building for trucking exhibits and interactive displays. There will also be an outdoor undercover area.

Meet the Bartlett Team: Justin Hart

Meet: Bartlett’s resident heavy vehicle Auto Electrician and Air Systems Guru, Justin Hart

Justin’s vast knowledge (14 years at Bartlett) of pneumatic and auto‑electrical systems have been vital to ensuring Bartlett installations on-site are of the highest quality. The hands-on experience also makes him an integral part of our design and engineering process, providing practical input into our fitting procedures and instructions.

Fitters all over Australia benefit from Justin’s input and he is therefore a vital part of Bartlett’s Integrated Towing Solutions. In recent times we have also involved Justin in discussions with automotive engineers from Japan and Germany, where his practical Aussie know-how was very well received.

“Always carefully consider where to run the cable / line so they don’t foul, kink or rub on any sharp edges.”

Justin’s top 3 tips for undertaking any Bartlett Towbar kit pneumatics and auto-electric installation:
TIP 1: Carefully consider where to run the cable / line, so they don’t foul, kink or rub on any sharp edges and cause a leak/short.
TIP 2: Read the instructions thoroughly and carefully.
TIP 3: Don’t be scared to ask a “silly” question.
